Is it ok to shim clutch bell housing? Vesla

I installed my ESP34 in the Vesla but the shoes were rubbing the clutch bell hard. I had some extra .5mm shims, so I put them in between the housing on the motor and the housing on the Vesla to get smooth turning of the pinion gear. Is this OK? I put them at all 4 contact points for an even shim.

Ok. That is good to know. I had to "custom" make a spacer fornthe mount as well. The included spacer was too big.

Cy clutch holder is needed, this problem goes back to the vekta.5. Are you using a Cy or zenoah clutch holder?

I am using the factory clutch housing that came with the ESP34cc from DDM. I actually pulled this motor from my Vekta.5, which I have been running with no issues.
On my Vekta I was only using 2 of the supports where the motor attaches to the chassis

Ah gotcha. The clutch rubbing was an early issue with the vekta.5, I had the same issue so I talked to Steve at ddm and the solution was a Cy holder. If it was me I'd try to swap it, I don't really believe in adding shims.

I emailed DDM and this is the response I got.

If the spacing is what it takes to work then I would just go with it. Do you know if that 34cc engine had the modified "shorty" clutch housing? The Vesla should take the unmodified standard housing and should bolt right in

CY housings do not fit the Zenoah G320 and G320 based engines.

Completely understandable we've all been there, I'd like to see your rig finished the right way and this will do it without the shims.
