super sure i told you the first time you need to get the special pinion from hobbythek. give them a ring and ask them and they will sort you out.#

as for the gears the helical gears look beautifull and the reason behind this idea is smoother running, they eliminate noise completly almost and the obvious stronger.

let me know how you get on super and best of luck getting it.

no hassle super

mine is 17tooth clutch with 45 spur

14tooth l/shaft with 48diff

mine is slightly differnt from the ones shown on hobbytheks page, these are the best ones for the monster models, and they are excellent, low and top end.....

same as cleon..

well the thing is they arnt the same as the ones listed on hobbytheks page, the clutch is def a 17 and spur 45,my l/shaft is defo a 14tooth but must check diff.

so what you going to do about the rear a -arms?

That's the only thing that sucks about the Elcon setup, once you buy one thing, you have to buy it all and convert your whole truck!!! But give "DCmodifier" a few weeks, he'll end up buying something else and changing everything all over again, then maybe you could buy the stuff from him cheap!

I wish I was rich. :(
Trip..

It says on Hobbytec, that the heli cut gears spread the load better, so would think they would be stronger too.

not a hope ducky, habve you ever seen them up close?

a lot lot wider and bigger....

I have seen real car gearboxes up close, the design of the gear is what makes it quiet, it is also what makes it weaker over a straight cut design.

They do spread the load, but the actual teeth design is weaker when compared to a straight cut one. This is what I've learned in the car field, so would assume it applies to the models too :D

P.S I see you relisted the Elcon setup...;)

well if the teeth design is weeker ducky as you say why do they put them in to full scale car gearboxes.

not adding up to me lol

anyway super,it is a lot of money but trust me if you run the car as much as i do you will need it because the standard is very weak....

not saying you don't run it often but i have my standard tested before i upgraded through and through and doesn't hold up,any hard days running will knock out something everytime.

my opinion....
and if you want the proof of that check out my threads and see how much i run them both, what say 7-8 vids a week..

anybody that tells you differnt just isnt running the car at all, just once in a blue moon

To keep the transmission noise to a minimum! ;)

Have you ever heard how loud a straight cut box is, you wouldn't be able to talk to the driver! lol

good point ducky

thats true i suppose, hobbythek swear by the helical cut gears anyway that they are a vast improvement over stock, they would want to be for 156euro...l
