fg monster and wheelies

im running the ddm top end pipe and it likes to wheelie, some times it gets to be a pain

hi m8,what engine have u got because i have just bought a second hand monster truck and the engine was poop so i bought the new cy 5hp angine and a jet pro v2 from ebay the guy was called bluefishy.com and i still cant get mine to wheelie.my gears i am running is 16t +46t ive tried tuning it but still no luck maybe im doing something wrong i don't no.your truck is tremendous by the way ive also got an fg baja that wheelies like that it wicked fun cheers ian

im running a zen g270rc with ada manifold, stock 813 carb, gbe airfilter, 98 octain fuel with motul 2t off road oil, the zens rated at 3 hp and performs better the higher hp motors ive had.

Any stock fgmt with a 26cc will weelie with a pipe. You need to tune it or your tires are just spinning out.

the stock carb settings for my motor (g270rc) is


H needle 1 1/8

L needle 1 1/4

but after adding the ddm top end pipe i set the carb to

H needle 1 2/4 aprox

L needle 1 1/3 aprox


i had to chage the settings as it was running to lean and lost power, every time you add a tune pipe you need to ritchen the carb settings up

yeah it might be ive been trying to tune it for ages.ive also got a 1 second power delay witch ive been trying to get rid of but it wont go Ie: when i full throlt it from a stand still it takes off and then hits a massive power band at about 10/ 15 ft away so im not getting full power from the start.ive tryed riching it and leaning it but it seem to get worse but having the power band in it has got to be somthing to do with the tuning right. people please help its doing my head in and so my m8 he's pissing all over me with his beetle. :helpsmilie:
 
put a new carb on it or take your carb off and take it apart and clean it. or you might have a air leak.
 
Could also try putting a bigger spring in the clutch to allow it to spool up at low end. This will give you more power off the start.
When you hit WOT at the start does it spin the wheels.
