Figured it would be cool to start a fabrication thread, whether it's 3d printed parts, handmade, fabricated etc. Be cool to see some of the stuff everyone comes up with. I'll start with some of my bashbars I've built, and most recent a bumper. 20240901_153309.webp20240901_153314.webp20240901_135919.webp20240901_135828.webp20240901_133401.webp20240901_133406.webp20240901_093514.webp20240901_093520.webp20240823_230600.webp20240825_172514.webp20240825_172506.webp20240812_225921.webp20240707_162307.webp20240707_162240.webp20240707_162236.webp20240707_163507.webp20240706_184534.webp20240706_184549.webp20240218_144028.webp20240218_160329.webp20240218_160341.webp20230518_202456.webp20220919_192504.webp20220925_154725.webp20220919_192511.webp

I have zero idea on how to weld but 1000% appreciate those that can.

Back in 2015 i was heavily into crawlers and leaned towards the scale side. I saw this New Bright F350 HD body for sale and had to make it a scale RC crawler. Due to the 18" wheelbase I had BPC Custom Chassis cut me out a frame.

Not knowing how to weld i decided to give brazing with silv solder a try. I made the side rock rails (Held my batteries), rear bumper, Custom Power Tank (BB Co2), Digger Bar, FireStik, Custom Expedition Bed Rack and a few other bits. Very frustrating at first but it is one of those saying that you can't fully enjoy something unless you build or make it yourself.

I had a build thread but that was during the PhotoFawkit days and lost 50% of my pics. Here are a few.

Few few runs to get the gearing, ESC and F/R weight dialed in.

Honestly, can we get a dedicated forum to Fabrication/3D Prints?

I've had a blast over the last 6 months modeling and printing various 3D parts for my collection (5ive T, 5ive B, 30DNB.) I will probably post once I have more screens of the various combos, but I have:

Chassis Bases:
  • Driver front base using chassis holes (A)
  • Driver rear base using side guard screws (B)
  • Passenger rear base using chassis holes (C)
  • Passenger mid base using side guard screws (D)
Components for those bases:
  • Long (190mm) battery tray that can go A, B, or C
  • Short (152mm) double battery strays that can go A or C (this allows for 16s, I have that build to show soon lol)
  • ESC plate that supports Castle and Hobbywing screw holes that can go A, B, C or D
This allows for a lot of various combinations depending on how you want to config your rig.

And these other components:
  • Steering servo and RX box
  • Center diff brace and ESC plate for elevated ESCs
  • Dual Fan mount that connects to elevated brace
  • Dual Fan mount that connects to stock center diff brake holes
  • Wing adapter so that a 5ive B wing mount fits on the 5ive T shock tower
  • Shock tower mounts that allow for a long center bar
  • 30 Degree North Buggy center diff conversion plate
I've also spent a ton of time with various engineering filaments to find ones strong enough for RC impacts and pretty perfect prints; and I would love to share that knowledge with people who are into this side of the hobby.

I’d love to see some of this stuff. I just completed a fully 3d printed conversion for the 30DNB I would like to post up too if there’s a forum for it.
