i no i need all me money to sell me hyper and get me baja :( i think thay should give us a track or area were non of the public will be and they said that we were driving veicaals in a public park but thay brought there van down onto the feld

Wow !!
I missed the 'excitement'!
I missed this thread also, and it's 5 pages long!

I suppose this means a lot of 'legal speak' as to where 'bashing' becomes 'racing' or a 'general public annoyance', and of course could possibly be harmful.

We have to accept, the main reasons we like these beasts is why we're moved on, THEY'RE BIG AND FAST AND LOUD!!

Do we approach a private land owner, and RENT his space based on an agreement that it's suitable - AND NOT RAINING?
Do we approach the Police, present our case and ask both advice and 'permission' even?
Do we even find a lawyer? Is any of us in the legal profession anyway and can access good and reliable advice regarding this?

All this because we never grew up !! :clown::clown::clown:

I do feel for the lads but at the end of the day it was a public place,a park.
There is a chance that if a car goes out of control and hits a member of the public its going to do some serious damage. As to insurance I don't think there is anything like that for running a 28-30lb.40-50MPH car in public. Can you imagine the premiums!!
They are noisy and dangerous and if you were a parent or grandparent taking your kids/grandkids out in the park and fifth scale came screaming past, would you be a bit apprehensive to go to that park again???
There are not enough space for these things and they have to be handled with care.
It would be good to get a track on the go so all would be well and good but if we do find land there would be a fee.
Us lot on this side do have it good.We ,as you know, run on an industrial estate and don't get bothered by no one.Its far from any public areas and if a car does go out of control there is not much it can damage apart from itself.
I'm in no way saying that we shouldn't have a good time but its the good times and the danger we have to separate.
Just a thought.

well the police man my dad knows didn't get back to me today with the info on the new laws but i did speak to some police man today outside my house and also showed them my car, i was told that if there was a complaint about the cars then they will have no option but to move us on!!! but they did say that most police and cso's will use there discretion and as long as you are out of the way they will normaly leave us alone.

as for the cso on sunday they said for him to be ok one week then move us the next there must have defo been a complaint, but instead of sayin he didn't say it was ok for us to run there before he should of explained the reasons for movin us on!!!!!

so sorry guys otterspool is a no go from now on! i'm guna give rossmod a ring and try and get up to the track and see if they would do a club deal on mebership and state we are the northwest large scale off road club or sumat like that........what do you lot think????????????

+1 james, don't be gettin rid paul, we'll get sumat sorted :cool2:

Yeh Pablo , don't get rid of ya buggy. We are the original Large Scale Scouse Bashers !!! Hahaha !!!!

Club is DEFFO a great idea.

I think the way forward is to start bashing where the public are not a problem.

I am still considering approaching the local council to see if there would be any way we could get our own area of land to bash on. Not far from otterspool used to be a huge field that Liverpool RC flying club used. I wonder if they would be kind enough to give the Northwest largescale offroad club any land ?????????

ye its closer than deside and there is no one about and the cso wont no were there we could allso look by the old airport

Here's an idea for you!!
Can we approach the local - Liverpool - Council and explain the situation.
To request that they can set-aside a suitable area for blasting and bashing, and possibly even use some European Community funds in the guise of helping the local community?
A long shot, but at least everything would be 100% above board, it would give people something to do, and help keep people happy, amused and possibly create the potential for investment in new local model shops, of which there aren't any, until Formby Models, etc.

????????????????????????

Alan.

good idea al, i know that theres a rc plane club in aintree behind the golf club they use council land allocated to them and the large scale train club have a track set out in the corner of caldistones park, so there is others using council land for there hobbies.
