ps its not a cure you still need to play with the throttle and steering it wont do it all but its a helping hand and if you hide it on the car just blag it and everybody will think youre the dogs

It would be a waste of time for me I cant even drive in a straight line :lol::clown::clown::lol:

I have mixed feelings. I have both 2wd and 4wd cars. I have a nutech and off road the 4wd is a blast. they don't get stuck as often. on road I prefer the 2wd as it is more of a challenge... unless it's drifting time... can't drift a 2wd the same

:) That doens't help..

I have a choice of a new Nutech (FTX) for £550 for which I would have to buy a hump pack and a few other bits.. Or a nearly new (20mins on the clock) HPI Baja with everything I need for £600

I don't know what to do!

HPI mate :cool::cool:

I know the baja is a great rc, but I am like the anti hpi guy. I'd buy anything else just to race against the hpi's but that's just my ford vs chev mentality. the nutech/punisher handles like an 8th scale buggy. very nimble. parts are cheap as are hop ups... I would bet you could bling out a punisher for about half what the hpi would cost

why not get both :lol::lol:

and as Atom asked please up date your location....looks like your on GBP

Location updated.. One thing I know for sure is that I am not getting more than one.. The reason I am in this position right now is that i took a hobbie that I enjoyed and went to far, so that I had a 'fleet' of cars.. i never knew which on to use and maintaining them all was a pain.

I now want to go back to basics and just have one car which I can focus on.

I saw a Baja in the flesh yesterday and it is very nice.. But I still think that the Punisher looks like a nice bit of kit for the money.

I just spent the day servicing my fleet of HPI Nitro cars ready for sale and I came to a conclusion.. Whilst I still love my Savage because of its size, I adore the Rush because its RWD.

My MT2 in comparison is boring.. I just don't like it. I never have. The Rush, is much more fun, as its all about use of the throttle, and "feathering" to get around the corners without getting into a spin!.

So this pretty much answers it.. if I like the size of the Savage and the 2WD of the Rush, then the Baja is an obvious choice...

I am therefore going to accept the offer of a nearly new one for £600.. I have seen pics and there isn't a scratch on it, and its also got a fair few other bits, so its a very good price.. That said I may be able to get a cheap 27mhz version brand new, so thats temping.

So I just wondered.. If they were both £600, would you rather have

1. A nearly new 2.4ghz model with extras
2. A brand new 27mhz model, stock

I have never had a problem with 27mhz, but now I have got into RC Planes I am using 2.4ghz for the first time and like it.. But is it really all that important for cars?

i,ve been running 27mhz with my baja and to be honest the range is,nt good at best i,d say 25meters, go for the baja its a no brainer:cup-1::cup-1:

Seriously? 25meters? That doesn't sound right.. Assuming this is right are you suggesting going for 2.4ghz?

Jon

yea go for the 2.4gig ,the range problems with 27 mhz comes from the sparking of the plug with a petrol motor, a nitro has no spark so theres no problem,

You need 2.4ghz for these things ideally. They cover distance quickly and could be out of range very easily with 27mhz. The last thing you want is a 15kg buggy out of control at up to 50mph - Ive had 1 & its not a good feeling. There is also the risk of interference to consider. Check out some of the runaway threads on here as to what damage & costs you could expect if things go wrong! There are some cheap 2.4ghz sets on the market now such as the wheel type Ansmann W3 for about £60 or Core RC stick set by Schumacher for about £80. Both of these have a built in fail safe but most also fit a remote kill switch to stop the engine from the hand set.

Thanks all.> I think it was destiny.. The 27mhz one was on Ebay and I got outbid at £575, so it wasn't ment to be.

For £25 more, I can get a 2nd hand 2.4ghz version, which has been run twice.. I have no way to prove that, but I have seen the pics and there isn't a single scratch on it... Plus, this one comes with a bunch of extra (shock covers, windows, etc).

So I am going to go and get it this week...

Cheers all.. i am sure I will report back soon with my first of many questions :)
