Just ordered the 1/5 DBXL magma flow today. What are the best upgrades? Pipe? Seen a few pipes on eBay but all from china

I went the IRC shock route, and I would highly suggest not buying the IRC shocks. They're way overhyped. The stock springs are way too stiff, requiring you to purchase right off the bat another set of springs. The shocks themselves are impossible to bleed correctly because they need to be fully assembled with spring in order to fill and screw the cap on. You can't get the damping even on all 4 because of the stupid design of them, and they're a bear to work with. In my case, they came with the wrong sized ball cups that sit in the A arms as well. Overly priced junk IMO ... try to find the Losi fronts as mentioned, way better shocks overall.

The stock DBXL 2 shocks actually aren't bad, they just come from the factory improperly filled. Fill and bleed them correctly, and buy stiffer springs and they work much better.

proline lid skids, shoe goo and drywall tape the body (they're pricey), kill switch is must, outerwears for air filter and pull start, get a gyro for stability control, rcr/better brake kit. spare pull start, maybe a higher capacity battery and a way to mount it (i used a nimh pack carefully zip tied to the front shock tower, exhaust really helps, if i were you i'd get a motor from oneil bros racing. you can get a long block that puts out like at least 7hp for around 300. of course all this isn't mandatory (except for the pull start) but i like these
