djmason9,
I think I might prefer the single speed. It might be the fact I have all metal gears, which weighs a ton. I still have to fix my engine as I don’t think it is running right, once I get it engine where I want it I will have a better feel for how I like the 2 speed compared to the single speed. I also might try seeing how it runs with steel pinions and plastic spurs.

TandT,
I used my cut off wheel on my grinder, but like Bknate said I think a Dremel will work. I don’t think FG sells the 2 speed with metal gears, I looked into the one djmanon9 linked when I was looking for my 2 speed, it looks like it uses quality gears but the guy never could give me a straight answer to my question. I ended up getting mine form Pro 5th Scale, I believe it was one they were testing and thinking about importing from the UK.

The two speed will make your FG Baja run fast. I run with all those guys from (Pro5thscale) I'm actually there Rep. but to make a long story short, we run on a (0-300)ft. drag strip and our FG Baja run between 65-72 mph in only 300 feet so, ask yourself if thats fast enough?

What are the plans for the motor? Is it going in the fg baja?
Do you have any videos of when you ran it?
