I just ordered a 30 Degree North body and cage. In the description at Detroit Performance RC it says: “These do not come with the small metal mounting pieces that are molded into the cage where it pins on the side. Losi part number LOSB6591”.

Having not yet seen the 30 Degree North cage in person, I’m assuming that I’ll need to purchase the Side Cage Nut Inserts LOSB6591 separately and that there is an insert opening in the 30 Degree North cage that these fit into. Is this correct?

I also saw these, which appear to be the same Side Cage Inserts, but much cheaper. 30 DEGREE NORTH DTT-7 SHORT COURSE TRUCK Roll Cage Mounting Nut Kit

Haha, perfect. I was thinking the same thing. They're a real pita, but being new to the 5ive-T, I somehow thought they were necessary.

On another note, I find it a pita to get the back dowels on the cage out of the sockets in the bumper when removing the body. Is there any trick to that?

You can clean them up ever so slightly with some 1000+ grit sand paper or I used some wd40. Best is to use a "dry" lube like graphite or such to keep dust and dirt from sticking but I never had an issue with build up in that area

Good idea, I'll give the 1000 grit sand paper a try. I've got some dry lube. Will use that as well. I appreciate you guys answering my rookie questions. Much thanks!
