I order my batteries with the connectors I want. I cut off the traxxas / spektrum plugs from the esc and solder on what I use.Made the big car electric power mistake once with dbxle...... never again......corporate spy or insider Mr Duffy, just kidding. Looks interesting but me and big battery's just don't get along, especially if forced to buy a brand because of connectors........traxxas or spectrum power......
Its ok to love all three types of rc motivation disciplines. Battery, gas and nitro. LolSorry Guys , you lost me at brushless? I'm not sure what that even is. Is it a carwash??

That said, I wouldn't buy a brushless large scale that was traditionally a gasser. The run times are not great based on anyone I've talked to with them. 10 minutes +/-.
Xmax / XRT owners claim 25 minute or more with large packs. I've ran my Redcat vigilante 23 minutes on a pair of brand new 9500 SMC packs the very first run without hitting low voltage cut off. I stopped because the pot metal pinion stripped, just like a traxxas lol. I expect to surpass 25 minutes after they have a few cycles on them.
If I could get run times like that out of a truck that big, id probably go brushless. You are the first one I've read claiming longer than 10-12 minutes. Short run times for battery rigs are why I stayed with nitro and gas exclusively for years sans crawlers.I think the big thing for 1/5 scale rigs is just running 12S if you’re into electric.
All else equal:
12S (2×6S 9000mAh): ~44.4V × 9Ah ≈ 400Wh
8S (2×4S 9000mAh): ~29.6V × 9Ah ≈ 266Wh
So you’re basically getting ~50% more energy, so in theory ~50% more runtime (real-world a bit less depending on how hard you drive it).
I’m getting like 30–45 mins on 12S, which seems pretty solid for a big rig.
Im running a 560KV motor which probably helps too vs something higher KV like 800KV, since it’s less stressed at the same gearing.
Also, I’m using mechanical brakes, which is probably just marginal gains, but it definitely helps keep temps down. I don’t even run a motor fan and it barely gets warm.
