Hey guys, I have a new 30DN DTT7 roller which is based on the 5T 2.0 chassis, as most of you all know. The stock gearing is a 19T/58T. I have a Zenoah 320rc that has a TLR 2.0 clutch housing as well as the TLR 2.0 bell housing/mount installed on the engine. To get the mesh to work out with this gearing, I had to remove some material from TLR clutch bell housing to allow it to nest in closer to the stock 30dn 2.0 based rear diff mount. Not really a big deal to me so I went ahead and did the modification. and everything appeared to be fine with the mesh at this point with the 19/58 gearing. However... Long story short, hopefully... lol
After the initial runs yesterday, I noticed a funny noise when just rotating the wheels on the bench. The below pics are what I discovered.
The brake rotor was actually grinding against the clutch bell. This has stumped me all day today so I mocked it all up with the 30dn supplied bell housing and sure enough the rotors would still make contact with the clutch bell. (54mm bell),
This does not occur with a 20t pinion and 58t spur combo, proven on the bench. So what is the problem here? I have racked my brain over this all day!
Any help from all you experts would be much appreciated, going to loose sleep over this one. Thanks!!!
