Does you car wheely of the line Ron?

When the car have traction, yes the car makes a wheely of the line.
After take off, i can also make a wheely with the trigger of the remot controler!

I see no reason to chance for a 8000 rpm spring.
I think its not good for the drivetrain and clutch.
The only thing this spring do, is demolition your bearings and clutch!
Its burn your shoes and clutchbell.

ive been swapping back and forth with 6000 and 8000 rpm clutch springs, belive it or not the 6000 rpm clutch spring wheelies more and sooner as it gets more traction of the line and sooner.

the 8000 rpm clutch spriongs keeps the wheelies spinning longer and keeps the front end down for longer untill it gets traction.

Hi mate, i have never been able to wheely off the line and am runn all the same stuff as you ... apart from the 8000rpm cluch spring, that's why i thought it would calm the wheelys down...dose'nt matter as you are happy with what you have now.

Are you running a differant carb?

!!

16T tooth,,,, Number FG 6431/1
The same as the clutchbell pinion

The best one is a CAT5 MFG pinion,,,,,, better quality than FG

im running the zen g270rc motor like ive said befor

thezen g270rc if you have a look comes with a 813 carb

I changed also the layshaft gear from 14 tooth to 16 teeth.
My car makes wheelies its no problem, and with the standard zenoah clutch!
The car gearing now is 16/48T 16/48T.
Wheelies can without the 8000 rpm clutch spring.
The most powerful item on your truck to do that is the exhaust.
In my case the RN Fat Monster Power S,,,,,,,

Use a good wheeliebar, and you have a better control for this problem,,,,,,

ive found the car wheelies less with the 8000 rpm spring

wheelie bar is on the way

one reason to change to a 8000 rpm spring is to wheelie less

and yes one ay of thinking is it can cause more wear on driveline parts.

but if we where realy worried about drivline part waering out quicker we would not run the pipes, the pipes will cause more wear and more stress on the bearings and clutch then the 8000 rpm clutch spring.

so if people see the clutch spring as causeing excess wear and tear on the car the same pople shouldbnt be running pipes

cause like you say and i agree with the pipe is the most powerful part of the car

so for me i like the 8000 rpm clutch spring and i like running pipes, if i was woried about the clutch spring i would also be worried about the extra power and stress the pipes cause but im not.

we all all diffrent and like difrent things

I am with you my friend....I am using a bad ass pipe....looking to build up a 27.2 engine
so far I am using a ADA top end 4 bolt...made for go-ped engines....
Your build is rockin......Slawhammer

I thought the layshaft gear has 2 set screws in it to hold to the layshaft??

I use the FG 6431/1
I'ts no problem to use that pinion on the layshaft.

About the 8000rpm spring?

Nobody use that spring here in The Netherlands for Offroad racing.
The tunings clutch such as Elcon, TPSFusion en Pase run al the same at 6000 rpm for offroad.
The onroad clutches from this tunners ride between 7000 and 8000 rpm.
Its for the difrent tuning about the cilinder for a offroad and onroad racing.
The onroad tunings cilinders have the power above more rpm than a offroad.

About the 8000rpm spring

i think you will find im in australia not the netherlands

i think youll find im not offroad racing, im bashing

i also have a elcon clutch set to over 7500 rpm i use to use in another offraod car.

i think you will find the 8000 rpm spring is very popluar and comes standard on some off road cars.

as ive said befor, i like the 8000 rpm clutch springs, and i like to use it, and it will not cause any more stress or broken parts then a good pipe

yes on road has more rpm and off road tuned engines some times have more torque

well i took the truck out to day and gave it a bit of a hurting not game to pull it out of the boot of the car yet and have a look

I'am oké with that!
I can also buy this spring here in the netherlands,,,,,, no problem at all!:clown:
But no, I will not buy this spring!
discussion is nice ,,,,,
I tell my opinion and you yours!:clown:

well i took the truck out to day and gave it a bit of a hurting not game to pull it out of the boot of the car yet and have a look

i worked up the guts to pull the truck out of the boot, this arvo to inspect the damage

one realy bent rear upper tunbuckle and rear up right screw and suspention pin on the rear right abnd a couple of rear rose joints don't look all that flash.

one broken pull start and the g270rc motor iwas locked solid after a bad jump landing, it was getting old any way 17 full tanks run thru it, but the fg mt is ok

and the body is smashed, bloody tuff bodies but its stuffed.

one front left upright has had the bolt pulled out and thers no meat left to screw into.

i was having a bad hair day yesterday and had a couple of drinks and took the mt out and did some bashing a littl bit of a strenght test.

after the outing i have came to the concultion that the fg mt is stronger then the g270rc lols

unforutanly the bashing wasnt not all caught on camera cause my camera woman was looking after my daughter who alos was having a bad hair day, im spewing is wasnt filmed.

but i do have a clip from where i was bashing and you can she the jumps i hit and full herbs to bust the g270rc.

on jump (not a very good one was on the right, but the killer is on the far left in the vid

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bj1SXZDSRjE

befor any one worries i have 80% of the parts to rebuild the g270rc i have alloy front uprights, hardend suspention pins a new spare g260rc motor and all the screws needed to getting it going asap and a new body and more parts comming soon.

i say the truck is tuff i love it.

and the g270rc is a dam fine motor

!!

When you have alu uprights for the front wheels, be sure that you have alu bloks in places where normally a breakcaliper seats.
Otherwise, you uprights can break!
Everyone who's not have front brakes, mount these blocks.
They are even for sale here.
I make them myselfs,,,,,,

Yup for the money the GP270 engine is a great engine....
the 30.5 cc with the 2mm stroke will give more torque on low end....
If I was to build a 30.5cc engine I would use a 1mm stroker crank....that would give some rpm's plus some torque...but not real crazy torque like the 2mm stroker crank....
If you like the GP270 the way you buy it then stick with it.........
The alum front brake blocks work...I could not find any so.. I used two 2 small screws as rebar and used epoxy putty to make a square bolck...it worked fine...later
it went to front cable brakes....I just dermaled off the epoxy putty....Slawhammer
