Right now i've been using Rec 90 with HP2 oil. Just in case 90 isn't available would 87 non ethanol work. Really not wanting to run 93 with ethanol. Not to sound like a douche hear look @ my user name & don't need a lecture on gas. I'm a fuel hauler. Ethanol is nasty sh@$. Rec 90 might always be available. If it's a performance reason why 87 is not Recommended. Performance is not a problem. Just entertaining the kid's.
87 non ethanol is easier to find. Oh yeah I'm new to the 1/5 gas car hobby.

Thank you & have a blessed day

Can someone please help me.

I can't answer your question directly...I don't have any pump ethanol free anywhere near where I live. So I run 94 octane ethanol free VP Small engine fuel. Its pricey, but is my best option living in a small town. I get it at my local Ace Hardware in a 5 gallon drums.
You probably know much more about fuel then I, as I know that different octane produces different detonation rates...but not sure of the impact. What engine you running and I will see if I can do some research for ya as I am off today. 😁👍👍

Thank you. I'll get the engine info in a few.

Didn't mean for the double post sorry

87 will work absolutely fine (remember, these are nothing more than same engines on a weedwacker, granted with mods-for most fellows here).
I would use 87, if I have to (or know I am going to use up a gallon of it fast). Otherwise, I go with 91~93. Use about a quart (then as you should know) fuel that sits a long time, will downgrade its octane (i.e. turn to tarnish, if sat for VERY long time) So if I have some 93 that I mixed up about a year ago, I know that it will not hurt to add (a quart) of 91~93 to bring the rating back up. But (had been in the business, of rebuilding small (and VERY large engines) Worked at a John Deere, Rep. as well (many other places). And I know that the fellows that use there weedwackers, commercially, or generators, etc.. All use 87, and run them daily (for hours on end). Whether using for 2-stroke, or 4. Thousands of hours of use....... With NO issues with using 87 octane.
