Yesterday I took my 5B 2.0 out to an empty parking lot to break it in. Given my only other experience with a gasser was a Rovan 36cc 5T clone I wasn't sure if a 23cc would have all the power that I wanted. But throughout the break-in process I gave it no more than 50% throttle at any given moment and it was powerful enough to break traction and kick the rear end loose! Could be a function of the tires having just very little grip, but I liked what it gave me! The Spektrum AVC receiver I've installed with 50% steering gain and 0% throttle gain worked nicely to keep me from spinning out completely on the tarmac.

Goal is to take it out to the Sandlake dunes here in Oregon next weekend along with a few of my other cars. Check out the tire setup I've got for it. Unfortunately I couldn't find shiny chrome rears or white fronts, so I had to do a mix-match of the two.

(You might be able to peep my SBR 2.0 under the table there)
Want to see how I might be able to rig it up with GoPros so I can get some cool shots

Sweet! Just a heads up PLEASE ditch that avc reciever IMMEDIATELY and go with the sr515 and get a killswitch on it Pronto. Don't run it again till you have a killswitch! Also avc does not work with a killswitch so that's why I recommend the sr515 from spektrum if that's the radio system you have.

Just out of curiosity why no AVC? I turned the throttle gain down completely so all it does is counter-steer. Corrections under engine vibrations were negligible or non-existent. I do have a spare 315 I could throw in. I just want it to be ready by next weekend.

I would like a remote kill switch eventually. Is there one you'd recommend?

Avc is just incompatible with the ability to use a killswitch. You need a signal to keep the killswitch alive I would believe and the avc just doesn't want to cooperate at all. I've went through the motions with horizon and they sent me an sr515 after giving me an avc one and they agree it doesn't work. Along with others here who have came to the same conclusion as well. Alot of folks here with say killer rc killswitch (not sure what they call it now) killer bee or something. I use the dynamite one off horizon and it's been in 3 rigs and did fine.

Thanks for the info! I believe AVC uses AUX1 and AUX2 for your gains so disabling AVC should free those up. I use an AVC receiver in one of my crawlers with AVC disabled, and every channel is being used to power something. I'll have to do some experimenting on this. I can throw in any of my Spektrum sport receivers if I still can't get a killswitch to work. In my mind, the longer antenna on the 6200A means better range and less risk of a brown-out, so it's more of a peace-of-mind thing for me...

killer rc super bee for the killswitch, (y)
what ryan said above ☝️,
never run without a remote killswitch mate, an rc runaway can be very expensive,
Thanks for the rec! I'll look into it
