MazdaMike, most of the guys on here generally just bash off road or do on road course driving.
Your in NY and I would think your looking to set up a FG to drag race with us in Floyd Bennett in Brooklyn, I could be wrong, but I am taken a guess here....
If that is the case, you already know what we do..
We run on a full 1/4 scale quarter mile track (330 feet) not 265ft which is actually 5th scale,, but.
Most of the guys do run just the 2wd FG platforms successfully, I have had the first car to break into the (4.3 second club) with a 2wd FG drag car, one of our guys (NIck) has gotten his 4wd FG into the 4.4 second ET area last year and with some changes (pictured below) he hopes to break into the 4.2 ET's with it. (FG 4wd with wet shot NOS)
I too hope to be the first to get into the 4.2's but it is not an easy task..
These cars are all in the high 70's low 80 mph area on our 330ft track from a dead stop, we don't do 600 feet speed runs.
Any info you need on set up, you can find on the club website rc burnout.
They have the race event schedule listed on there site, also any help I can offer, just ask.
I will be starting on a Baja 4wd project, stuffing a Skopod 62cc in it, need to make some changes to the big motor mount and pipe and it should slide in place.
Set of some custom gearing and off to the track we go.
Thanks and see you at the line...............
