Anyone race on really dusty/dirt tracks and found a starter that works better then others? Im tired of going through pull starts, i had an amazon ez start on my DBXL and it worked good but my fear was the little pawls and the springs, if they failed at the track i wouldnt be able to swap in a regular starter as id have to change the flywheel etc. But now on my 5T im finding regular pull starts just don't last no matter how much i blow em out.

I've had good luck with installing an outwrwears pullstart filter on the stock Zenoah pull start. In fact my whole engine is outfitted with every outerwears product available that helps keep debris out of the cooling system plus the air filter.

Absolutely install complete set of outerwears. I use loctite brand automotive super glue to help hold the velcro straps to the engine. The other key is to use compressed air to clean everything.

I am running an outerware and do blow the whole truck down after each race including forcing air through the starter, clutch, fins and undercase and it still seems to kill a pull start in short order.
I was just asking if someone found a better one like an eazy start or something. Thanks for the input though

Yea the dust destroys the pullstarts. Going 5 years on 5t 2.0 with original pullstart but l do have the crankcase cover on it also. My first baja truck from years ago maybe got 2 or 3 runs before l had to disassemble and clean. I'm not sure but l think Taylor's rc makes an improved version. Detroit rc or Dave's discount motors might carry it if you don't want to order from UK

Get one of those cheap harbor freight battery powered shop vac things and vacuum it all off before blowing air at it shoving grit further in.
