I had a buddy with the 2.0 and he was trying to install a rcmax engine and he said it wouldn't fit due to the new center diff location and mounting holes. He was told to use a 1.0 chassis. Is this true? If so, that sucks. How can you have a better alignment chassis but can't use it for big blocks??

Ok i just looked at detroitperformancerc.com and they do have both 1.0 and 2.0 options. I guess the case mounting points are different. ?But that still means that if a guy is selling a 1.0 version on FB or something and you have a 2.0 then it won't fit and vice versa if you have a 1.0 chassis and 2.0 engine. Or is the clutch housing interchangeable or something?

Honestly what from i can see between the 2 is they flipped the orientation of the center spur gear. 1.0 faces back toward the engine and the 2.0 is closer to the front driveshaft. Also center diff shafts, center diff tower, brake hardware, pinion-spur are different I believe as well and thats really all where the differences are

Yeah most everything else fits either platform, I have something like half my buts off a 2.0 that I got off ebay from my build.

Yes Daren Longford has a 5b big bore??

So the losi 5t rcmax chassis can be a v1 or v2 ? so what you say is v2 setup (with rcmax chassis) will not fit a bigbore motor?‍♂️ that dose not seem right?

So on stock chassis platform the engine differences are the clutch housing and the clutch bell carrier. 1.0 engine is set farther back and the 2.0 the clutch housing is at the rear brake disc thats why the clutch housing is cut out on the brake side because the brake disc intrudes into the housing...I think it boils down to where the engine ultimately sits on each chassis plate

2.0 look at where the engine sits compared to the center diff
