I have the stock 30.4cc with jetpro and 990 Carb. Trenchers for tires. I am trying to figure out when engine goes to get a torquer for the track or a rev machine. I would love opinions in both directions. Still learning.

If you are looking for more torque for a low cost and easy install, look into some of the DDM head kits.

yes, i agree. there is no repacement for displacement - launching from corner to corner. There is another angle - Its the F-270. If a r-c was geared perfectly for the track its running on- geared a little low- The Little 270 with the 990 and a rev pipe would hang with about anything- just like a dirt bike-90% is the driver- not the machine.- In the world of off road r-c, I would do doubt keep the track tenders busy pulling the car out of the bushes!

Sound like what you really need is 2 vehicles, one for the track and one for all out speed. :D You can never have too many. They are just too fun. LOL

Completely agree. The 27.2 is a balanced engine. You really get the best of both worlds, it revs high, yet has plenty of torque. Gearing makes a big difference, as well. Good points.

Would love to have more than 1 but wife would kill me. I am still running the 25-35 gears I like them for off the line and corners. Are these good for the 27cc? And in stock form, mild port or full mod? As for dual bleed I have never seen one. One makes good ones? Worth the money? And I have had bad luck with ddm head kits.

The gearing is good unless you change tire size. You could go a little taller with a high hp engine. If it is in the budget the full mod long rod is amazing. I run the OBR 27.2 FMLR in my XB. I want to try the 30.5 reed case. The 8k clutch spring makes a nice improvement for the launch.

The xb runs the 29-31 right? I have these gears and its fast but not off the line on mt. There is an engine builder at the track that knows and learned his porting from Trevor Simpson. He suggested a 29cc mild port. Anyone run a 29cc?

Get a quote of him to build a engine for you. If he has had training from Trevor then he should know his stuff.

Yes. Its only money.........right? Need to save for the good motor. He is going to start doing some stuff for the cats. Will see him Saturday and ask him.
