i never had a good run with hitec's to begin with, been through 3 645mg's in total

only got the 7955tg coz thats what the FG importer here recomended I use with my fg tuning cable brakes

I found the cheapo towerpro's lasted ages if you got a good one and could take allot of punishment.

I bought it & just fitting it now. It looks ok and the materials feel like decent quality but obviously the performance is key. I will be trying it out this wekend so fingers crossed :w00t:

serious?!? damn thats scary!

they are supposed to be dust and water resistant, according to the box anyway.

I bashed in some very, very wet condition few weeks back, hit puddles u name it, got a picture in my FG thread of what it all looked like when I was done. Hasnt missed a beat before or after.

And it had a wash radio tray still in place, maybe they've changed their design?

I know my steering servo 5755 has been under water that many times and never missed a beat!

Check out this thread. https://www.largescaleforums.com/showthread.php?t=11207 It talks about the luck I've had with Hitec servos! I've had 3 5755's

Tower hobbies servos are rebranded Hitec's... Some say they are servos that weren't good enough to be labeled as Hitec?

thats no surprise in that case, is it very humid in summer?

i know traxxas make fully waterproof servo's, don't think their very toquey but might be worth a try.

 It's Michigan... The weather is always stupid... But if you don't like it, give it twenty minutes and it will change... It's the only area in the world that you can have all 4 seasons in the same day! Last year I made a snow-fort and got a sunburn on my shoulders...

good luck mate, which one did you get, the 14 kilo?

i think you will be happy with your choice.

Yeah mate its the 14kg. Not running it til Sunday so will post a report after that. Just setting it up and trying to push it with the brakes on I can tell it has more stopping power than the 645 so hopefully it will be good on a run too!

Got off to a bit of a false start with the servo  I fitted it on Wed evening but the screw was missing that holds the horn in place and the Hitec screw was the wrong size. Anyway, I rang JE Spares on Thursday morning and they posted out a bag of 6 screws which landed through the door this morning so I cant fault their service :cup-1: All is well for a run out on Sunday so I will let you know how it goes.

1st outing today with the bluebird installed and it passed with no drama. There was no noticeable difference in response time to the 645mg and the power was much improved for the cable brakes. The field was very grippy today but it had no trouble locking the wheels up where the Hitec used to struggle in similar conditions. When I had the 645mg fitted, the was slight glitching on the steering servos but this has now gone completely!

Overall its seems like a decent unit but time will tell so I will report back in a few months time or sooner if there are any problems :scared:
