I love my Baja. I've only had one problem with mine(that wasn't my fault). The stock clutch setup is (IMO) a little weak. After a wreck at the offroad track where my baja landed on it's side(from well over 10 feet in the air), the bolt holding the clutch bell to the pinion gear kept coming apart every couple of tanks. Nothing was broken, it just refused to stay together, yes I used locktite every time. I got the Turtle Racing Clutch setup and I havn't had a single problem with it since.
I've only broken it 3 times, and I doubt any RC car would have survived what broke mine. I bent the frame and the top plate when I hit a tree head on with the bumper at about 25-30MPH or 40-50KPH. I also slid it sideways (at high speed) into the very same tree, and broke the right rear A-arms. Both examples where using a little caution would have saved me a lot of time and $$. The only other time I broke it, was actually before I fixed the bent frame. I ran it in a little circle track race and somehow managed to win with the bent frame. I was so excited, after doing a few manditory donuts for the crowd, I decided to see how high I could jump it off a wood jump that was in the infield. I managed to get up to about 30mph before I hit the ramp, so my Baja was WAY up there. I'd guess it was about 25-30 feet in the air... with a bent frame. Being a 5B the nose was coming down first. Trying to bring the nose up to prevent any further damage to the frame, I floored it untill it landed. Anyone who's been into offroad RC can tell you that's going to break something. The only thing it broke were the dogbones. I was actually quite impressed that nothing else was broken.
I'm running an SS kit with only a few modifications. I have the TR racing clutch setup, Dark Soul bones(purchased after I broke the stock ones), RPM arms on the rear, outerwears prefilters all around, and a killerB kill switch. Nothing else, unless you want to count my upgrade to a better steering servo. My biggest complaint about it would probablly be the air filter setup. My next hopup will be the Blurr quick release air filter setup to make swapping air filters easy.
