Do you ever sleep? I was in the middle of sending a post and you replied before I had a chance to be a smartass!...

The new tires seem to stick like glue, compared to the stockers!!!

Could you imagine, a ported Reed motor in that car?!? Damn, it would be fast!!!

So, when are you gonna buy us plane tickets, so we can come out (with our trucks) and show you, how the Americans do it? LOL ...We'll break down a lot... But it could be fun!

I would love to do a 200 meter drag race! I know the only way I could keep up with your Carson, is if you dragged my truck for 150 meters! But... Let's see how well it can pull a 25 pound truck!!!

I love your onroad!!! No bullshit! How much more is the Porsche body? I want one...

Trip...

P.S. I can send you a cat for the Microphone... I don't know if it will be alive when you get it though...

they are a bit pricey. the porsche 911t body i have for my Berg as over 300.00 when new and like 100 for the wingset. OUCH. glad i got it with my berg. lol

stuff...

hey trip least you make me laugh anyway man lol

i could stick the cat in to the car and let him off lol he could be a better pilot than myself lol

funny as you say that because i was often thinking of a race ported motor in it,it would be unreal, the stock solo 23cc is allready unreal it revs really high all the same.

as for sleeping lol i don't really sleep a whole lot i spend far too much time on these things hah,its a love affair, damm its like a second relationship with my beetle.....

man i have the best idea, you know the way everybody knows everybody here on this forum, well when/if the economy ever picked up again we could all arrange a r/c track for a week somplace and all head to that destination everybody with there best 1/5th machine from the forum and just turn it in to one huge racing event. not to mention the few beers......

you know something it could be arranged sometime, and the winner gets a new comp mt or something.....

what you think trip??

Man, are you rich or did you find someones credit card? You must have stock in Hobbytek and your living off the interest. Sounds like a big ponzi scheme to me. :clown:

the porsche 911t body i have for my Berg as over 300.00 when new and like 100 for the wingset.
"t" $400.00 for a body set? Dang that is alot of money!! You could get another car for that - Well maybe not but dang!

i could stick the cat in to the car and let him off lol he could be a better pilot than myself lol
What if we put little hampsters in there and call them our drivers?

mmmm lol

well btb i have spent a whole bunch of money at the moment but at least i will have a lot of spares,on the bright side of things now io don't have to spend money again now for ages on parts cause i have loads of spares now.

funny as you mention drivers,i had a conversation this morning with the girlfriend about the woman in america who had the 8 babies, man some ammount  so she asked me if i was the dad of them what and how would i mind them,i said she would prob find me where i run the car in the car park using all the babies as cones :lol::lol::lol:

I think that dc2 man should be banned from this forum because of all great movies and inspirational threads about his large scale cars (it makes me want to spend all my money on my FG Monster) :clown:

No but seriously, dc2 man keep up the good work with both your Beetle and this thread about your Carson car. I notice the huge difference in grip when replacing the standard tires. Now like you say, it really seems to stick like glue to the tarmac.

I was looking at these cars at Hobbytheks hompage and as you stated earlier, Carson onroad is much cheaper than the FG onroad. Why is this? What is the difference beteween FG:s cheapest onroad and your Carson?

Regarding the amount of money spent dc2 man, don`t think about that. You only live ones (I think) :)

TODAYS RACING-saturday 28th feb 09.

update. and REMEMBER this is NOT an easy place to run the car!! tough enough....

what a day, i started her up today at around one o clock and ran it for 3 flawless tanks, funny on first vid of me starting it up by mistake without noticing i turned choke off to start it but found my mistake soon after lol:clown:

lads i cannot fault this car at all,i had so much fun with it today.

and at the end of todays racing bought an end also to the stock carson supplied throttle/brake servo, funny thing was i was just having one cool down run to put car away as i was finished and the servo packed up,i checked all connections and reciever, done some tests and its the servo motor that threw in the towel lol

being honest i am surprised it lasted this long, although it is a good quality metal geared servo the motors can give up with out warning, servos are just minor issues.carson build these servos and supply the stock base models with them, they are a carson evo metal geared servo.in goes my hitek now as a replacment.

i adjusted my rear shocks a little harder for better grip as it was a little bouncy.

here are few vids of my day, this car is flawless i cannot fault it so far.

now conditions and grip were tough today as the ground was a little wet as you will see, either way still held her own and got some good speeds up.

tyres still very little signs of wear

p.s thanks waqr, good positive feedback there my friend, and glad you like the threads, yes i have loads of money spent but as you say we just live once, well some more vids here for you to see carson in action.

waqr by the way carson are in direct compitition with fg,all parts are a direct fit to either model, some minor differnces i have noticed, but they are identical i cant notice anything differnt,fg looks like a shorter wheel base which i find strange and i don't like, they are same price actually, check out fg base prices for model without radio gear, you pay for more expensive radio gear, this carson has an fg solo engine in it.

here are todays videos.
all comments welcome.

if you look at the first few photos you will see the new bodyshell thrown in back of jeep, for display purposes.

they do get very tattered from running them,so i will just keep the first one for normal driving and other for display,i could have got something else but i just liked the bmw too much lol

Ohhh, and he takes out the cones on turn 3!! Yes, Bill they really need to sweep off that turn there seems to be a lot of gravel from that pipe building on the track...... Thank goodness they didn't use those babies they were talking about...:clown:

haha
the babies werent too effective as cones so real cones had to do lol

well SPOTED btb,it was the first thing i also noticed there today lots of small little pebbles/stones on the surface, kinda anoying, they were being thrown everywhere, once again well spoted!

this is a tricky little spot to run when you have to do the whole ring around, where i stand up in the center it is hard to see the turn points at the bottom,a very dangerous place to be running the car too but when one learns to master the throttle it's not too bad.

some times less throttle is more lol

thats it. you have done it to me dc. im takin out my gt-40 tomorrow. im getting her ready righ now.. ive never run it in a parking lot yet. only on a track. its never really hit top speed yet.. do you have an adjustible diff in that? i have a standard fg diff, but as i only lube it up couse it will leak i get a little more rear wheel spin when coming out of the turns. wondering why yours doesn't do that. did you just pack it with grease? im running the same tires you have. there great arent they? hopefully i will have some vids up for you to see. im kinda excited. hopefully it don't snow..

great news kryptonite.

hello kryptonite

great to hear it bud, hope you have a blast, try if you can to get a little vid just to see the car in action.if you can..

believe it or not the diff is excellent,it has little greese in it and its an alloy one from fg with alloy diff mounts and the carson diff gear, the trick is when installing to put the extra washers and shims in the right places,it works great for me anyway....
little slip,good grip..

combine that then with these tyres and its great, keep in mind that i had better vids than these before posted up when conditions were dry as yesterday was very wet as you can see on the ground.

waqr the adjustable diff would be a great upgrade, but as i just put in one i had at home a brand new alloy fg diff im happy enough with it for now.

SUNDAY 30TH FEB, new videos.

hello all i took the car out again today for some more action and yet another flawless relibale days racing from this great model.

the conditions were very wet today but im afraid my driving just got faster still.
im afraid i have come to the conclusion that 50 percent of grip all depends on the driver behind the transmittor lol

it may seem that the small fella in the vids is near the car but i assure you he was very safe distance at all times.

the diff i installed on this model is performing very well i used bigger washers and packed it well with thick greese,i didnt pack it too much but the overall running of the diff is one im very happy with, still enough slip going on but it is a vast improvment over the stock set up.

god this car is awesome!

I think you scared me as much as Ma when he started running out.
Look like it bites even with the cool weather. Cant imagine when its hot.:cool2:
Next videos got to me "M" racing on a small track. Can't make him come out and not have a little glory too.:clown: Now that you have the speky just lower the throttle down to about 10%.:cool2:

update.

and here you have the proof of how hard i run this model, these tyres were fitted thursday and if you follow the thread back along sinse they were fitted you will see for yourself, nicely worn now lol

this machine has been driven to within an inch of its life sinse i bought it and all i can say is my new tyres speak for themselves as you will see here.

hope you are all enjoying this thread, its a good place to check out the carson model and how it is fairing out so far..

all i can say is that i love it,so far 100percent!
