Charger - Any recommendations

Hi all,

Ive been using a B6 chepo charger I bought over a year ago, its been working well but recently realised its not balancing cells correctly in my lipos. using a meter the cells are off balance by around 0.04v or slightly greater.

So I want to buy a new charger. Any recomendations on a model and good place to buy?

Ive seen a few on hobbyking but very cheap and don't want to buy another that will not balance the cells correctly.

i like my hyperion 0606i. never given me an issue.

Same charger I use and would recommend to anyone. Charges pretty much anything!

Hyperion chargers are good. I also have a Thunder AC6 that does virtually everything my Hyperion does and in some cases more for about half price. Picked it up at www.hobbypartz.com

I've a lot of batteries, and too many different chargers, so I've recently bought this one off them. Seems OK, but more specialist people are giving it a bit of a mixed review.

all you need is a 20a power supply for that one. i have the turnigy version and the checkpoint 25a power supply. you can only charge at 5a per port.

I was told to go for 200W - 50W / channel.

i have an old astro 12.5 amp 50 watt power supply that i've benn using for about 10 years and i was running both chargers on it at 6a each and it worked fine. now i also have the turnigy 4x charger and the check point power supply and they both work great too. if your going to charge at real high amps (if your batteries are able to ) then ya more power the better but if your only going to charge at about 6-10 amp's then they'll do fine.

received my charger today, Turnigy Accucell-8150.

Well Shane turns out your info is correct there's no balance port for a 2s built into the side of the charger. Does anyone know what I need to buy to be able to balance charge a 2s lipo when there isnt a balance port built into the side of the charger?

Also i didnt reliase i now need a 12v power supply, can someone recomend one that will enable me to use the whole capabilities of the charger? Charger is capable of 150w charging and discharging.

i recomend the team checkpoint power supply and for a balancer i like the losi balancer. it not only balances but it also shows you how much voltage is in each cell. it'll do up to 6s.

glad you got a charger, i use a venom pro charger plus myself it comes with PSU, balance board and a host of connectors. it is also capable of charging all kind of batts including PB amd various cell configs

still haven't tried out the charger yet, waiting to get a power unit and charging board for it.
