This engine is no harder to start than any other 62 engine, the reason ginge had a problem starting it was because of a pre existing shoulder injury.

No.You are getting confused with Tim off BFUK.He had a shoulder injury.I am talking of someone else and he had problems too.
J:rolleyes:

i have heard of MANY having problems starting the skopod 62cc engine regardless of having a shoulder injury or not and some have even reported hard starting with an electric go-kart starter.

Pretty engine! I wouldn't want to get it dirty! :w00t:

On the starting issue. I have never owned one. But saw these things at Bajafest. And anything that you need a jack hammer/ mini machine gun to start it,,,,,,,,,, Is a pain to begin with!

My mistake, it was Tim, i thought he bought it new, who else have you been talking to that had problems starting this engine?

So the motor for sale is no harder to starter than any other 62, going by your previous posts its seemed like you were saying that this engine was harder to start than any other 62, also in the first vid it started quite easily, as long as you have a go kart starter, the last 2 looked mare like user incompetence, the guys not using the de comp vale and by the way the exhaust fell of it looks like he really doesn't know what he's doing, also harder starting is par for the course on any high output engine due to the higher compression, look at OBR's full mod, you'll find plenty of info about them being hard to start but i bet you wouldn't turn down one of them:)

i don't care how great this engine is theres no way im lugging that huge starter out as well as all the crap i already take out with me toolbox fuel can oil mixing bottle car and handset ect plus what happens if you cant drive your own car direct to your bashing spot then you have got to lug a 12v battery as well not for me

+1 on that. Why the hell would you want to be messing around with all that when you could buy a Bizeta or an Oddy or an MMR etc? and have the same output if not more!
I didnt say that THAT engine was a mare to start I said all Skopods were.
Have a talk to BAJAGINGE off BFUK.He was the first in the UK to have one and I see this bloke near every week and he knows his stuff so I don't have no doubts believing him.

i just don't see the point in them the price to much, the cc's yes double ok i go with that but ive got a 23 oddy with just under 6hp and realy don't need any more and the way it revs is unreal i cant see this rev like mine does plus mines half the size and weight and i can start it via a good old pullstarter

Bloody hell , this engine is doing the rounds.I believe this belonged to one of the lads off the baja forum and he said it was a nightmare to start!
J.

If its the same one there was a better de-compression valve fitted and it was still crap to start.

I must have miss read you previous posts, it seemed like you were saying that this specific engine was had to start.

P.S. i have a CC racing beast engine with oddified porting, ecu and fully programmable wet Nos and my 62 is quicker of the mark.
