Ok Here's a tip you can use to clean up the lower engine case's & cylinder..
For your next Engine Rebuild..
Get a old large crock pot...Buy from yard sale ...where ever...
Use antifreeze..(green) mixed 50/50 ....anti freeze & water...
Remove oil seals, bearings and any gaskets....
Put parts in crock pot....add the antifree/water mix covering parts best you can with the liquid mix...
set the temp on low ...let cook 24 hours......Check on liquid a couple times.
as it will boil off...keep parts covered in liquid..
out door garage is the best place if you have one....
when 24 hours time is up..remove parts ..wear rubber gloves or use a hook or tongs..those parts will be HOT....
Let the parts get cold to touch....rinse off with clean clear water...
dry the parts....air compressor works good for this....
Your parts will look brand new again....Just like when you bought them.....
I have done this with motorcycle parts years back.....
Best to you................Slawhammer.....................
