I am having a hard time with the clutch bell screw ,I haven't messed it up yet ,but my ? is ,is it a reversed
thread or no?

I may have to go down an buy a 1/4 drive allen socket to get it to break loose ,an maybe a little heat
from a torch!

No they are not reverse thread, mine wasn't. Try with some heat, my clutch bell screw had a crap ton of Loctite. It's pretty common for them to be loctited like hell apparently

If you have a soldering iron use that rather than a torch, that way your carrier won't melt.
Also once you do get it removed you can mod it by putting a longer bolt through from the inside with a nylock nut on the outerside.

LOL.....never thought of a soldering iron or gun ,I got several ,including a wood burning one ,I ran out of the propame
torch bottle
I will eventually change that to aluminum ,but I also want to change the gearing ,so ,I might no even mess with
that ,an buy all the parts together!
I might have a aluminum one out in the shed ,but it may not fit ,as it came off a old sprint car!

I had a rovan stuck pretty good, I took the plastic carrier off and used a soldering iron 80watt on the screw head and another one on inside of bell in center to sink the heat both ways, came right out easy.

I will try that an see how it goes ,the screw head is still in great shape ,an is not stripped as I didnt even want
to press my luck with it!

I may replace that screw with a better quality one ,I use to be able to have my local Napa store to order
stainless screws!

Ah ,but still going to replace it ,it is not a good spot for one to strip ,however ,I have other means to remove one
if it does!...LOL

when you get screw out finish drilling the hole all the way through and tap all of it. get 10.5 long cap screw and run it in from back all the way through so ya can use a washer and lock nut to hold pinion. when you break it or mess end up you can pull it out from back and replace it

Wrap a wet rag with ice cubes around the clutch bell, heat the head of the bolt quickly with propane then use your wrench. Should break free, and the cold ice rag will slow down the heat transfer to the plastic carrier. Ive used cold water rags in many different situations needing heat but also a melt danger.
