Definitely a new setup to the one I have. The earlier one is a pain in the ass to take off. Hope it works great for you.
It looks like if I put a screw right into where the torx screw is at... it will un-mount the Elcon :D but Im more worried if this new Elcon setup will work. Hopefully it will fit my clutch bell. Do you see anything different? Does it seem wider now? Or is it pretty much the same regarding size?

It will be held to the crank the same way the stock clutch mount is. It will be fine. :)

How does it compare to the width of the 2 shoe clutch with its mount fastened to it?
I measured the Elcon to my stock 8k dual pads. The circumference is exactly the same. I'm not sure about the width but it seems like the Elcon is a lot smaller comparing to the Lauterbacher. One thing I did notice is that the Elcon's elevated portion is toward the bottom while the Lauterbacher is at the top (Go to page seven of this thread to see the Lauterbacher pic comparing to the stock pads, notice the spacing on top of the Lauterbacher? While the Elcon's spacing is from the bottom on page 10; although you can't really see it due to the angle). What I'm talking about is the space that suppose to make up for the clutch carrier that would hold on to the dual stock pads.

The Elcon does look to have a smaller base as well as the outside plate.
Yea..... haven't mount my gear plate yet. Too tire and lazy after work...... hope I won't have any problem.... just want to run my XB. Been a while :D ... I did buy a Torx screw driver along with bits and mounted my Elcon :D Looking good......

Because I wanted to find out if its going to work... I completely assemble my gear plate and tighten everything together. Looks like its works fine.... It kinda ring my clutch bell a little but it doesn't bind (comparing to the Lauterbacher) to where I can literally start my engine by pulling my car forward :) . What are your thoughts on the slight ring of my clutch bell? Maybe after a few run I can check out what is causing that ring but so far it looks promising. Maybe the tip of the four screws on the outer side of the Elcon are barely touching the bell...? Will check it out next time but will try to run my XB ASAP to see how things go. Wish we luck :D

I wouldn't say a ring but more like sqeak :D

It might be just a high spot on one of the clutch shoes. I have had a standard clutch do that. It went away after the first run.

Oh high spot? Like one of the pad is slightly out? Maybe with a few run everything will settle in... :D

If you don't hurry up, I'm gonna have to get one for myself to try. LOL
Been wanting to run it but it keeps on raining.... will run it ASAP and let you know. I wonder if GTS666 have the ringing issue like me or is his quiet? HEY GTS!! If you chime in please let me know if you have the ringing issue with the clutch bell? Thanks...... BTW... where's Deluge? He's been gone for a couple of weeks now....

Not sure... Must be taking a little hiatus. Or,,,,maybe he is building that V4 he was talk'n about. :D

Mine doesn't make a ringing sound. But my Onroad car does and has a stock clutch setup it seems to have no affect on the car though its only a slight noise.

Oh... just to be more detail... it's more like a squeaking rather then a ringing sound. There is only three possibility.

1. The outer screw is slightly touching the bell.

2. The screw holding the Elcon to the crank is slightly touching the thread of the Elcon (The screw is slightly smaller so the thread were not use, instead the screw goes into the crank).

3. The pad is touching the clutch bell slightly.

These are the only thing I have in mind :D

Have you given it a run yet it may have to bed in a little? Does the bell move at all when engine is running. May have to run it then inspect the bell and pads to see it there is any tell tale signs of something making a noise.

Well guys, I started my XB up to day inside the house due to the rain. Right when it started it wanted to run off. Right away I knew that the Elcon is engaging. I will have to take it apart and see what's up. I've set the Elcon to 8k. I wonder if the squeaking is because the Elcon is about to engage when engine is off. Then when the engine is idling...she wants to run off. Will have to find time to take the gear plate apart and investigate what the heck is going on here inside the Elcon. GTS666, what rpm did you set your Elcon at? Did you experience any issue with your Elcon? The MT and XB has the same clutch bell right? Does this mean I need a new clutch bell? Maybe my clutch bell is outdated? I think there are different version of clutch bell? Why are you able to use the Elcon with no problem and I do? What makes your MT clutch bell different from mine?
