-Your spacers are under the flywheel cover?-I know you are running an OBR. Are you using the CY/HY clutch case and not the Zen clutch case?
Yes I run the CY original Redcat case...

Yes the spacer for the engine mount is on the bottom holding the chassis and the three holding the gear plate.

It could also be a the MT gear plate. Maybe with heat it warps a little?
I don't think so. I still have the MT plate on my XB. Never had an issue.

Damn, I wish I could see it. It's gotta be driving you nuts!

Rcdad.... looking over my clutch pad on my engine.... I realized that maybe the two bolts holding my clutch to the carrier is a bit tight? I always torqued them to spec so how is it tight? The reason I say that is cause I notice the clutch is slightly open... about 1mm to 2 mm. Mabe the bolts are too tight?

You should have 2 washers on each clutch bolt. Flat washer behind the clutch and the spring washer in front. When installed correctly you can't pinch the clutch with the bolt. The bolt bottoms out on the clutch plate. The spring washer keeps the shoes snug. Look at the spring washer it should not be flattened. You should be able to see some play left in the washer.

Can you pinch the shoes together as it is? You might have a problem with the spring.

I released the bolt a little and the spring came together again. I torqued it this time to the lower standard which is 43inch lb (I recall torqueing it to the upper limit). I think this may be why my clutch is engaging. Do you think after days of sitting like that, where there was a 1mm opening of the clutch (due to bolts on too tight?) could effect the quality of the 8k spring? The spring washer is bigger right and should be installed in the front?

Spring washer goes in front of clutch
Thanks bud.... here is a shot.... this time I used the washers that came with my new clutch and spring. As you can see here.... base on memory I believe the spring washers are larger....

Note this shot is after releasing the bolts and re-torqueing to lower standard.

I'm not totally sure what you mean? :D Basically the washer should not be flatten? How can I tell? Pinch? All I know is I torqued it to spec. Maybe It a bit tight.....

I might have mis-spoken it might just be the photo. Those washers are not flat are they?

On the clutch bolts the threads stop about 10mm from the end. When the clutch bolt is tight it normally won't flatten the spring washer. The spring washer is designed to just keep the clutch shoes snug without holding them tight.

They seem flat.... but again how can I tell when they are already installed :D they seem to not have curves...

Heck... on my day off I will replace them with my old spring washer? That might save me the headache. Besides... I needed to confirm if those washers are spring washers.... they have to be but don't seem to be curvy.

Here is how they should look. Make sure your flat washer does not slide past the threads.

Got pic of a clutch installed to engine with un-flatten spring washer on bolts?
