Im currently out on a little bash and chatting with yall when I cool down (98°?).
Suddenly my clutch got stuck in the engaged position. Anyone ever have that happen? Its stuck good. When you drag the car the engine turns over. Is it a bad spring you think? Heat from running 3 straight tanks on a 100° day? Never had clutch issues before. Its the all metal FS I was gushing over in Z's thread. Oh and shock end still holding after another 3 tanks.?15951830892925605454330771030964.webp
I think it might be starting to separate a bit though.

Spring is probably broke or stretched, heat maybe. Or it's an old spring. Never had it happen to me though ?‍♂️

That was my original thought. Its rather old. Guess Im gonna have to dig into it. Its time to replace some pins, bearings and other stuff anyways. I hate tearing down when the weather is nice.?

I agree, sounds like your clutch spring got overheated and lost it's stored tension. Common occurance with springs. I took clutch cooling one step further on my Rovan and drilled .375 diameter holes in the front face of the clutch bell to help cool the clutch. shoes

Good idea on the holes, but spring wasn't the issue. Scroll up for a pic of the problem. Either way its all sorted, new engine is in and all hooked up. Will get a break in run after work. Ive tried about every break in method but one. The drive it like you stole it from the beginning. In the intrest of science, thats how this one will be broken in. Just gonna do laps at wot for the first tank and see what happens.

Side note for anyone interested. That engine ran the ddm billet air filter. The thing is a POS. Lots of poop made it past the filter and I have minor scoring on the piston. Worse results than the K&N filter it came with. I wouldn't run one if you're thinking of getting one. They suck.

Operation warp speed is a go and tank 1 complete. I couldn't wait till after work?. She was fired up, let idol about 10 seconds, then kept the throttle pinned until empty. My track has lazy turns so it was literally pegged the entire time. No catastrophic failure yet, after another tank ill take a look at the guts.15952679783477558395249048319476.webp
No more orange alloy so not quite the mutt she used to be.??
