Hey guys, I have a 5ive-T roller and I'm just trying to get it running. I was given a 2 bolt 23cc dynamite engine from a DBXL for free and I thought, might as well toss it into the 5ive, even if it'll barely move. Anyways, I tried to line up the engine mount holes to the chassis and the holes on the chassis are too short. It looks as if the clutch housing is too long/wide. I checked with DDM and Dave says the DBXL And 5ive motors are interchangeable without any modification. So what gives? I need a shorter clutch housing. Are all the 5ive variants the same? I have a spare 29cc head kits for the 2 bolt motor, it should make the 5ive move at a decent pace at least. Just need to sort out the mounting.

thanks,

The 5ive runs the short clutch bell, and if you have the dbxl engine mount on the engine you'll need to remove it. Other then that, they are interchangeable. I cant remember off the top of my head, but I was fairly sure the dbxl ran the short bell as well. Now if it's a 2.0 5ive t, then you need the std bell.

Thanks for the replies guys. I got the correct clutch housing and everything fit now. While I was in the mood to take things apart, I swapped out the head as well with the 29cc kit. Noticeably way more compression than before. Hopefully it'll be enough. I see a scratch and dent sale on the DDM Dominator. How is this pipe on the 5ive? I wasn't super impressed with the Dominator for the DBXL to be honest. Any fitment issues with the pipe on the 5ive? Melting cages, etc

thanks,
