Just had a quick little run see how everything is going and its nice to have some compression back in the ol girl :D

Here is the old piston (23cc)

Looks like something has eaten it lol, damn grit getting in :(

And now have a new 26cc top on and new ratio metal gears its like a new machine, love a good ol strip down and clean up.

Gears are nice and feels like I have a little bit more control over the rear under acceleration now, So not bad but have yet to go through a complete tank yet so haven't opened it right up yet Saturday is the day for the fun :D

Yeah I lost a lot of compression all of a sudden and was a complete pig to get started, So I took it apart expecting it to be a bit rough and it was, So got a bigger top can't hurt can it :D

Just ordered my wheel converters, new rims and tyres so will have some fun burning my current ones into the ground.

I am getting the HPI rims with Proto rear tyre and Dirtbuster on the front can't wait to give it a go with them fitted.

Finally took some new pics of it today and what a looker :D

I mean just look at that mint shell held together in all its messed up glory notice the distinct lack of rear spoiler that disintegrated once on a concrete rollover :lol:

The tractor tyres are brilliant till i get my HPI ones rooster tails off these are mental :w00t:

Really need to change my air filter with this new piston and head don't want another ruined one.

Yeah hopefully my local model shop will have a original one in stock if not ill have to order one, car isn't going anywhere this weekend anyway till that front shock is sorted and repaired.
 
Cheers was wondering what the hell those were called :) But I do need a new filter that one has had a few hits and is looking worse for wear and don't trust it much.
 
hi buddy where you gettin you wheel adapters? can you post some pics with the hpi rims on as i've been considerin puttin them on my leo for ages ;)

O do i spy a s1 escort turbo there? had a couple of them over the years bud along with a s2 and a couple of cossies, proper cars them bud is it standard or you got it modded????
 
I am getting the wheel adapters from Freeprawn Link but am waiting for one pair of tyres and the adapters are on back order but should have them next week some time for the rims but will put a pic up soon as they are on.

And that is a Mk3 escort but a cabriolet with full S1 turbo conversion, I love my old banger hurts my wallet but love it running about 180bhp on the ol MFI and plenty of chrome under the bonnet :lol:

So went to finish off the first tank with new piston and top and managed to shatter a bearing on the lay shaft I will get through that tank one day wondered why it got a metal grinding sound all of a sudden only hit a bump at about 15mph, Oh well think I need some sleep been a rough week and I need to curl up and die :D
 
Well I have replaced that bearing and the other one incase of damage to it, Got my HPI wheels and tyres but still waiting on the FTX adapters they are still on back order from CML distribution but I have plenty of time, not using it anytime soon, And I am expecting delivery of a HPI baja filter,outerwears filter cover and some red beadlocks for my rims tomorrow, hopefully :rolleyes:
 
Well I now have all parts except for the wheel adapters and just ordered a 8000rpm clutch spring hope they get here soon want to go have a pee around with it runs so well now :)

As for getting a baja might get one end of october for sure keep looking at em and getting to like em more I see em :)

Just don't know what to do with my Leo when I have one cos I know I will forget I have it once I have a baja :(
