The most used appliance in the kitchen aside from the fridge are several sized crock pots. This evening, six p.m, cut 1/2 lb of hi-grade meat into 1" squares- use a flame outside with cast skillet to singe, roll in flour. small bag of baby carrots, Enough little red potatoes -a bit larger than a golf ball to fill 2 quart crock 1/2 full, put the carrots on top of the spuds- put just enough water so the pre cooked meat is not immersed, pile it in the middle of the crock. I only add a hint of black pepper- sea salt. cook on low setting for 12-14 hours- yum. nother good meal that lasts a single fellow several days-- in a 3 1/2 quart crock, buy a small butterball turkey breast- thaw out, freeze the gravy pack to give to the food bank later, Rinse all the spices off the bird, then place in crock skin side up with 1/2 cup water. cook on low 12 hours or so-- sour-dough bread- cheese -- good meals with lots of enegry in it thats a lot better -cheaper than processed food. A " good cook " for a busy single man.

Yea, cod is really good in a small crock too -- when its on sale. put it on the sides of the pot - on high setting for 1 hour. this morning i will peel-core 2 old style rome apples- 2 jazz apples- tbsp of raisins- 1/8 tsp cinnamon- 1tsp butter- cook on high for 2-2 1/2 hours. it will be good with the stew. I never eat processed food any more, I feel a whole lot bettter also.- Well- this is sorta processed- its a healthy drink-Odwalla Original superfood. I drink about 3/4 quart every day.

I love my crock pot....meatballs, pot roast, chicken and rice, salsa chicken, you name it and you can make it in a crock pot. I've even heard of people making cake in a crock pot

yea the odwalla is spendy. When I go to the tri-cities to visit the folks we go to costco, they have a membership- organic is overrated. unless you grow it yourself you never really know for shure. I used to make chili in a cast iron skillet- I used range fed buffalo meat. this is the real american beef. trouble is- it hit $9.99 per pound. $%&t. it sets in the store. OH- at costco, the green odwalla is about $4.00 for 1/2 gallon. You know- I was gonna plant the back yard with lawn seed- the way things are looking, I need to forget the lawn idea and surf Craigs list for a Troy-built rear tine roto tiller. food is good, tastes better than the lawn would!!!!

Well they just developed syntheic hamburger made from stem cells. So once they infiltrate the food chain we wont know what were eating. My crock pot is home for my smoked butt, pork temderloin ect, ect.Turn it on come back later it`s done.

I read about that too- The first thought that came to mind was a book called soylent green. Check this out- 4 years ago I planted a bunch of giant sun flower seeds. They grew to about 15 foot- the heads were about 1 1/2 foot across. people were taking photos of them- The idea was to cut the heads off and feed the birds over the winter. No animal would eat them-even in the dead of winter. make ya wonder huh? The birds- chipmunks would eat the normal sized sunflower seeds --- lits of people say buy gold-silver! In real life- non hybred seeds would be worth more than metal. - you herd about the giant seed vault in norway? agan, makes me wonder-----pardon the spelling.
