Playing hooky from work today since Monday is a holiday and why not make it a 4 day weekend??. So got the wife and kids off to work and school and got a little bit of wrenching in. Rear hub bearings were rusted thru and didn't want to turn at all. So the job of just pulling the diffs and prepare for an oil change quickly escalated?

So I ended up replacing the rear hubs with the Losi aluminum hubs I originally bought for my 5ive-B. After I pulled the axles out and removed the bearings(which was a pain in the azz), I did a light sanding with some wd40 and 1000 grit sand paper to clean up everything.

Don't forget to tighten your grub screws.

Now all 3 diffs out. Gonna open and clean all the old fluid out and casing next??

like ur method for gear cleaning ?
Thanks. Yeah, I let it sit in it for about an hour or so and agitate it with a screwdriver or something ever 15 minutes or so. Then I take it to the slop sink and wash each piece off with water and then spray wd40 right after then a light coat of silicone. With the Simple Green I don't fill bad about washing it down the drain??
