Yea it’s easy to work on but I agree to disagree. Their tolerances and quality control are awful.

Haven’t built a new hpi. Are they that bad?

clubin i built one of the new Baja 5b and it wasn't to bad i ran it a couple of times and it ran pretty goodf.

I thought I saw somewhere on FB that there was a problem with the molds. Email kraken and ask for a replacement.

I don't think so. The shear length and size of the shocks will make it difficult. The rear looks like it would be possible but the front looks real iffy. Dean also doesn't have a vesla in his shop at the moment so trying and fitting is impossible for him right now. Maybe in the future tho. Well...when Dean made my shock towers, he didn't make the rectangle cut on the lower portion. That cut mounts around a part on the rear transmission housing and the front one mounts around a part on the front bulkhead. He thought the cutout was just for weight savings so he didn't add it to his file to cut out.

He will be correcting the batch he sent to Mike T so if you bought a set please get in touch with Mike. Not Dean's fault because he was making them without having a vesla there to test fit.

I used my router and made my own openings. Hinge pin braces with bushings fit sweet

I also installed the Bonehead wheelie bar. Note the alloy spacers to extended the rear cage mounts to better mount the sx5 cage.

So update on the build time. Dean came through with the correct towers for me. I'll get them installed sooner or later.

The 55 supreme and TRC pipe was installed with 30/46 gears to get me going. I'll adjust as I see fit after a few runs.

Body panels came back from Long Island. My guy Barry once again did a great job on them. I think I will flirt around with red LEDs for an underglow and "eyes" glowing. We'll see. All in all I'm super happy with this build and ready for the shakedown run.
