So when you run your finger around the inside of the cylinder on the walls or around the outside of the piston you don't feel scratches . That's good. Unfortunately all the pictures you posted showed the same view of the piston and the same angle of the cylinder. All the cylinder pics were looking at the intake port. None of the exhaust port . Same with the piston. All were looking towards the piston form the fly wheel side.


The big thing is you shouldn't feel any scratches. You should see the cross hatch pattern in the cylinder walls which is normal.
Don't sand the cylinder walls. You need the cross hatch pattern ( those fine micro scratches) for the ring to seal against, works with the oil in the fuel. If you sand anything just the edges of the port openings.
