i was curious are trere any bodies out there that will work on the d/r's i've already got a rip in the stock redcat body and i haven't even bashed it yet.

rcdad, can you elaborate on that. i mean what will fit with what modifications or what have you tried or do you suggest any help since i don't have a clue. thanks

No one has made a body for the DR yet. I threw a Grafil 5b body on a DR. It looks like it would fit with some trimming. The DR chassis is wider than the 5b. The body would have to be trimmed to sit on top of the very front of the chassis. I was going to paint one up but just haven't got to it yet.

I have seen the proline 5b body on it and like the way it looked. I wish the stock body would at least come clear for custom paint

i got the factory paint off mine with acetone. it wipes right off. just got to use alot of clean paper towels. it's hard to tell from this pic but its painted with a color shifting paint that changes from almost black to redcat blue to purple depending on how the light hits it. i'm not much of a painter but would rather have anything other than what 40,000 other people have.

Goof off works great also in removing the paint from the stock body.

That looks pretty good man. The color changing paints are cool. I agree about having something different. Custom is king!

i still would like to see what the grafil body looks like on the d/r rcdad if you could just sit one on there so we all could get an idea of how it would work that would be wonderful. thanks ahead of time.

Thanks, now I think something in "Yellow Peril Yellow"...

OBTW, "Yellow Peril" is the color training aircraft were painted during WWII. I'm not THAT old, but I grew up with "War Surplus" aircraft from then.

With blue anodized metal, black roll cage, orange Outerfilters, I think "Yellow Peril" would work.

You know that will make me just want to paint one up. :D

you will find that the factory paint will pretty much just wipe off with the acetone but the lexan will fog up. if you go over it again with clean paper towels and acetone you can eliminate most of the leftover paint and fog.even if you have some fog left it's on the inside and won't hardly show with new paint over it. the one thing you do have to be careful of is not to get the acetone on the outside part of the body because if it fogs up it will show.

Just print up a photo on brochure paper then use Amain picture glue to glue it to the inside of the body. Then just spray the rest. It's really easy. Then you can drive her hard all day long. :D

That is the process I used for this photo.
