I'll try the finger over the hole and see if there is pressure. There isn't a clog in the pipe because I felt pressure and saw fumes coming from the pipe.

If I could give any advise I would stay away from the big bore upgrade kit from daves discount motors........garbage!! Should have known it was junk when I bought it from a store with the word discount in it. Save the extra money and get a new engine!!

I have a Dave's 29cc Big Bore kit as well. It's not installed yet. I bought my DBXL on eBay. The original owner bought about $400+ worth of upgrades, but hadn't installed them all when he decided to sell. I got it for a steal. ($850 plus shipping) with only 1/2 tank ran through it. I will post updates when I get the big bore kit installed. It may be a while. I'm working nights and 7 days a week for the next couple months. I do want to eventually squeeze as much as I can out of the CY23 before considering an upgraded engine (although a CAT5 30.5cc would be awesome!). Thinking maybe flywheel and clutch upgrades, I also want to go with a larger Walbro carb. Maybe the 813 or 990?

DBXLGUY, what did you ever end up doing? I don't think it is quite fair to say Dave's sells junk, the big bore kit I got was a CY product. I did have the head crack which from what I understand happens with the 2 bolts and botched landings. Anyhoo are you up and running?
