Heynow! I am trying to pull the pinion gear/clutch on my 5ive T 2.0. I have a DDM racing piston stopper. However, when I try to thread it in the spark plug hole, it is hard to turn. It is not cross threaded, but it won't spin in near as easy as the spark plug. I stopped when I met resistance, as I don't want to damage the spark plug hole. Is it supposed to be resistant to threading? Thanks much!

The threads in the stopper can be a bit rough it sounds. I use a clean micro fiber rag and stuff it in the exhaust port to stop the piston. You can also take a large Allen key or flat head screw driver and wedge it between the clutch housing and the clutch holder also.

Or recoil rope....

I would choose rope over a piston stopper for this , with a stopper you are putting any or all force in one small spot on top of the piston , I would be concerned about punching a hole in top. With rope you spread that force out over a larger area and it actually is soft so it acts like a cushion while spreading the force over a larger area.

Thanks for the tip! How would I use a rope? Sorry, I'm new at this...
