got a quick question would it be stupid/damage my fifth scale buggy to take out either the rear or front dog bones to make it just rear wheel drive or just front wheel drive

its a rampage xb and i wanna know if it will damage anything if i take the dog bones out to make it rear wheel drive??

along with that will there be more power since its only powering the rear wheels??

Needs to be set up to drive one end or the other.
If its set to be 4WD, then removing dog bones should simply spin the power away.

Before you remove anything, you could test it by simply removing the retaining grub screw(s) in the central drive shaft, one side or the other.
Once you have, fire it up, and see how it is.
I'm presuming the drive cups - into which the dog bones sit - are held onto the output shafts by grub screws.

ONLY DO THIS FOR A QUICK TEST - as you can damage something longer term.

lol ill probly screw it up but thanks lol:cool:

out of the redcat DR I have had the front dogbones and cups removed for over 2 years with no problems at all (the buggy is over 5 years old) I only removed the front cups and diff only to cut down on weight I have raced it for a year in the 2 wheel drive class with an OBR 30.5 ported and the demon rc 2 speed and have not did any more damage to the cups as when it was 4 wheel drive so just removing the front dogbone itself will be just fine.
