These pull starters are a major fekin pia. I agree, if it's open it's gonna crap out. A lot of us here are having trouble with dust killing pull starts.

Nah my twin build has had so many upgrades..... would be a shame to pull the motor

He said it works just fine even on the v1 and has found no problem with the

Was so impressed with my twin after doing the rebuild for my m8 on his twin. The firing order was opposite to my twin so it only fired after I swapped the ht leads and the it popped and bang .Anyway my twin after a month or two fired on the 4th pull

Good news looks like the twin is going get measured up for a new set of pipes

Went on a mission today to find some heat shields for the hot leads on the twin found some stuff that's up to 250c resistant so it may do the job
Any is better than that

i agree doug ,that original woven stuff is proper wank , i got some similar to what you have, silicone outer and glass lined

half the issue is finding the silicone stuff with a similar bore to the leads doug, i had the same problem, but found some a little closer than yours ,

You need to look for the stuff for car plugs wires. There is an endless supply of them on the Internet. Look for something for a 7mm wire.
