Only just brought this set of dog bones from Tower, run them for about 5 to 10 mins and the head shears clean off

Anyone else had this happen to them at all ?

Not had it happen but DTX customer service has been good to me. You have your receipt and photos? Send it to them for replacement. For the 1.00 it cost to send its worth it. I woud call them 1st and see if you cant email them the information.

yer thanks I emailed tower customer services earlier the details and pics so will see what they have to say. Not sure i want to post the knacked one back to the states, not really cost effective.

Got to be worth a try could just be a bad batch or something.

If that fails i'll try Duratrax direct.

I've fricked many of those when I first bought my FHMT. I only had the 23cc in there and wasn't beating the heck out of my rc. I bought the Carson ball drive set from Hobbythek. No problems since.

They never moved smoothly in the outdrives. They always felt like they were "binding".

hmm seems I may need to go the same way at some point, I only have the 23cc in there and the torque Dominator but not going mad with it.

@ csp1971, I'm guessing these are the one's ?

Now that I've seen. I purchased a set of DTX outdrives and a couple tanks later I sent DTX an email with what you see in the above post and they sent me another set.:)
My FG's are much harder or something?

Yer i'm currently running an FG diff and out drives, they appear to be much harder wearing.

Good news, had a mail from Tower they are sending out a replacement set. What can I say other than great customer service keep it up Tower.

Those are the ones.

Do yours feel like they are binding in the outdrive cups (inner and outer)?

If I go with these with my FG diff, will I need to rebuild the diff as the inner cogs are a different size and I guess these are for the Carson/Smartech diff.

If you have all FG gears, you should go with the FG Ball Drive kit. Don't change your gears back to smartech/carson gears.

I believe the one in the link would be the one you would need. Hopefully someone will chime in (hellya?) that will know for absolutely certain on the above.

Why the heck did I not ever do that? That's awesome! I stripped a steering servo out when I first bought mine and sent them a pic. They sent me a new one.
