When I was racing pro Go Karts we used EGT ( exhaust gas temps ) to tune the motor while running and on dynos , I was looking for a kit for RC's and small motors but did not find much so after a little searching I found this (Arduino based )

HiLetgo DC 3-5V MAX6675 Module + K Type Thermocouple Temperature Sensor Thermocouple Sensor Set M6 Screw for Arduino on AMAZON. $9.00 !

also use a Arduino Nano $4-5 , and an SD Card to log temps , you can also add a digital display for $5-6 for a logging Temp sensor of exhaust gasses ( much more accurate than head temps ) https://robojax.com/learn/arduino/?vid=robojax_MAX6675_thermocouple _LCD1602

anyhow you guys with HIGH $$$ engines might like something like this ? I think I'm gonna make one for the Dyno setup.

On a dyno all critical engine temps are measured. Egt,coolant, oil, intake air, ambient air...hell even certain new cars can tell you the temperature of the cylinder heads.

Yep , I just saw this as a low cost way to measure exhaust temps , you can also add a ambient temp and humidity sensor for a few bucks more . All about the code really.

If you added a blue tooth setup you could transmit LIVE temps top your phone LOL !

Im gonna build one and put it in my Rovan pipe just for fun and because Im in CALI and on lockdown ! FEKKKERS
be interesting to see what you come up with buzz (y),
i do run tto temp sensors on most of my engines, that takes the temp at the plug though,
mainly used with the obr twin to balance the cylinder temps via the carb needles,
if i have one hotter cylinder then fatten that one up a tad whether it be on the low speed or high etc,
or if its running fat anyway then lean off the hotter cylinder a tad, depends how high the temps are to start with,
takes a while but once balanced (ish, within around 10deg of each other) the twin does run nice, and safer heat wise i mean ,
on singles a tto gives a good idea of when yer fan case is full of grass and crap as well, just need to do a drive by every so often and have a quick temp check as it goes by,

I wish I had them on my old Yamaha RZ350 dual cyl 2 stroke bike , I could never get them balanced !

I will have too see if I can find my logs on my Losi running oval with the Eagle tree setup in it before the egt part failed. But on the dyno for us and under hard running you will be seeing 1000 to 12000 deg F. That sender you posted only went to 1040. Not really high enough for extended running hard at peak settings.
