Figured I'd just go ahead and start a specific thread regarding what all performance mods are available.
I have air cleaner, a Walbro 998 carb, DDM Dominator pipe, just ordered an 8k clutch. Just learned about the light weight flywheel.
So next step is porting? My knowledge of engines is more than the average gear head, but when it comes to 2 strokes I'm still a rookie. Usually when building an engine, you spend time and $ in the heads to get the most hp gains (larger valves, porting intake runners and exhaust ports, and for a cheap/fast way to gain compression, just get a head with a smaller combustion chamber.
But in a 2 stroke, is there a simple way to modify the engine without having to completely tear it down? Is there any head work that could be done that would make a difference?
