Hi There

I am just about to buy a MCD v4 comp monster truck ,for bashing and hill climbing.

ive just seen this engine , but have not heard anything about it! and it has some bold claims on power and performance!!

Falcon 3 redrace 29cc zenoah with external readrace ignition.

7.8 hp and 4.8 nm torque its 559euros without clutch or air filter.

Any advice or other reccomendations that will produce huge power but not break the bank as much!!

(i don't care about top speed just power and accelaration.)

There are lots of racers and basher in Holland who use pitstop engines and this one is a particular favourite with the bashers. The Falcon 2 & 3 26cc version are very popular with the racers.

Other options are Oddified engines (with or without his nitrous system) or Hobbycentre from france, yet another world class engine tuner.

How much experience do you have in large scale? If not a lot I recommend something that is not so wild till you get use to it. A Zenoah G290 has plenty of power and if you want later you can send it off to have it modified. The G290 will take a plus 1, 29mm stroker crank with out any modifications.

ive had quite a lot of experiance in nitro 1/8th and I already have a 2wd fg monster truck with a 30.5 promx from mmr with a ddm pipe...but want more power!! ;-) but like I said still want reasonable reliability.

ive looked at the obr engine mentioned above but the torque figues are almost half that of the falcon 3, but i know the ob brothers are well respected so also considering that!

Has anybody else had experiance with the falcon 3 with external ignition?

the OBR engine also works out a lot of money once the uk duty has been added (dosnt apply to europe deliveries)

OBR racing actually emailed me lastnite recommending the 30.f full mod and said it would be better to keep standard clutch just with stronger spring for torque. However falcon3 says i need a 90euros upgraded clutch!!...very conflicting views!... im now even more confused!!!!!:w00t:

Nice photos - more clearly explaining that what I was able to download.
I suppose it's electronic ignition - more powerful spark and more accurate timing, thus giving better ignition, cleaner burning, thus more power, better pickup, etc.?

In one of the pictures above, the onroad car that has the black exhaust on it. Could some one tell me where I can find the snorkle type air cleaner that is on that car? It is the black air cleaner with the foam on the end. What type of car is it sourced from?
 
I run 4 to 5 HP in my 5b SS I do have the drive train beefed up but that is all most to much HP. I mostly race and sure would not want any more to hard to control. I guess if all you want is uncontrollable HP then more is better. :lol:
 
Big hp in a hpi baja is a different story, theres many parts to be bought to beef up the drivetrain of a hpi baja
 
I didnt get the MCD mt in the End ...I got a Hurrax Yuckon Extreme edition will a whole load of titanium upgrades!, should handle the power but very heavy truck so will need it!

I might wait a few weeks as ive heard Oneill brothers are just about to release an all new High torque /high power engine especially for largescal MT's!!
