Fg gears

So the sportsline has a 23t steel pinion gear and a 40t plastic spur gear. Ddm just got in a 38t metal spur. If i go down 2 teeth on the spur then i would go up 2 on the pinon right?
There is no side to side adjustments

25/38 steel

If there no adjustment, you need to go in matched pairs, dropping 2 teeth effectively makes the gear diameter smaller, so you would need to go up 2 teeth on the other gear as well.

Your off on the tooth count. It's 22/44 and 26/38. The tooth count has to add to 64. 26/38 is the tallest I would go, your gonna start bogging with a taller gear. You running a stock motor in it? Even if you had a modded motor I think you'd need a 2 speed to run taller than 26/38.

I just got a buncha emails from DDM about things coming into stock. The engine mount washers are in!!!

Fg dose some wierd stuff with there pinions ? they change the pitch of the teeth so you can gain teeth or lose teeth and keep the same spur gear??‍?

Sounds like I'm gonna have to do some digging. I've seen baja guys run odd number of teeth but never FG. FG offers 15, 16, 17t layshaft gears for some extra oomff. I vaguely remember seeing different sized diff gear too.

There definitely a odd company to deal with..
I was looking at the 2 speed also. It's like you need to cross check every part twice to make sure it fits.
This part will fit only on mondays if the wind is blowing south west otherwise you need that part??

I didn't see a 2 speed 2wd vs 4wd. But again its FG ?? he'll probably keep his. After watching a few 2 speed videos on YouTube it definitely makes a difference

It does but I don't think they shift down very well. Not best for technical turns and such is my understanding.
