What's in the FG? Do they have 1k or 2k fluid? I put 5k diff fluid in my FHMT shocks. Seemed to get rid of the bounce really well.

I talked to a couple guys from Norway...they said to use 50K for the rear
30K for the front...this would be ok if going off brums or table tops used on a track...
I have no clue my self what works...Guess all depends on where or running and if doimg
any kind of mild jumps....I can learn from you guys......Slawhammer

I just looked at mine, I used 5k in the front and 7k in the rear.

5K? As in 5,000 wt? That's diff lube!! I was told to fill them with 50-60wt...

Correct me if I am wrong, but that just seems thick as hell!

Trip..

Yep, diff lube. I tried 50wt silicone...like the stuff I use in my 1/8 Losi Aftershock. It is too bouncy for cars of this weight, at least that's what I was experiencing.

For my HPI Baja, I use 40wt fork oil in the rear and 20wt fork oil in the front.

No poop?!? I guess I will leave the stock stuff in there then, I heard that was pretty heavy.. Thanks for the info!

Trip..

Remember, I am in no way any sort of expert! Try a few different weights out. See what you think. I was liking the 5k/7k that I tried. The other stuff was way too bouncy. I hate shocks, I hate setting them up. I hate trying to tune in suspension. That is one reason I quit racing....that and the expense.

Remember that different shock oil manufactures name their weights different...FG is like 1000-9000, others are in the 10,000-30,000 etc. So you can only really tell by seeing the bottles in person. :)

That is right. I have compared the two and you really have to look at it.

Trip, if you have the stock oil in your shock then you are in a good place to see a difference by installing 40-50 in the front and 50-60 in the rear for a smooth yet tough shock. they come stock with the FG 2000wt from what I remember. Or it might be 20,000?

shock oil reference info. I know some have changed the way they label (xray uses cps now) but a very good reference here

I ended up mixing my own for the fh, and used dif oil.

This is great info on oil weight. The oil mixing info is usefull too. I have 7 or 8 bottle of oil and always needed something in the middle.
