Hi everyone,

I've just gotten what I can safely say will be my forever controller. I love the fit, finish and feeling of the NB4+, but there's one issue I'm having and I haven't been able to find any answers elsewhere.

I use a Dynamite engine kill switch, and it was previously connected to a Flysky FS-GT3B. It worked flawlessly then; it never had any issues with cutting out without input or failing to respond to input. It seems to be a different story with the NB4+. I have it plugged into the third channel on the FGR4S receiver, and it does work as expected.

The problem is that after a few minutes (noticed while the engine was off), the kill switch cuts itself off. It only comes back on if I turn the receiver off and on again, or if I unplug it and plug it back into the receiver. The voltage readouts are well within automatic cutoff limits, and the channel is set up properly as far as I can tell. The issue as far as I can tell seems that the kill switch is deactivated if no input comes through the channel for a few minutes. Is there some setting I need to change? It would be a nightmare if the engine cut off while in the middle of driving.

I don't run flysky but did run into a problem with my dynamite kill switch and a Spektrum transmitter a couple weeks ago. Sometimes it would seem fine and other times it wouldn't work and I had to shut it off to reset it.
I finally found out that the " Framerate" setting on my transmitter was wrong , once I set that it has been perfect.

Again noy a Flysky user but just a thought.

I had read about this being an issue for some kill switches. I haven't had any luck finding info on what transmitting frequency the Dynamite likes best though; even digging through the manual hasn't offered any clues. What framerate/frequency ended up working for your setup?

It seems to be related to endpoints. On my raminator have to keep epa on throttle/brake at 85% or bit lower to avoid kill switch activated at full brake or throttle. Primal has a video on radio settings if that helps.Good luck on your issue. Also if you have traction control/abs you might need to turn off.

I went with 16 , the lower setting is where it had issues ( I think that was 5.5?) and I played with everything before I figured this out.
It sort of had a mind of it's own so that didn't help. Almost like it was right on the edge between working and not.

Update: I figured out the exact thing that causes cutoff! Evidently, turning the steering servo all the way to the right triggers the kill switch for some reason. No other combination of steering, throttle or brake does it except for when I turn all the way right. I have no clue why this is happening and I'm even more confused than I was before 😅

What did you set your voltage cut off on the kill switch to? The red and black jumper blocks on the side of the kill switch set auto kill if the voltage dips below the threshold you set. I'm curious if your servo is drawing the voltage down and activating the killswitch.

I had that thought as well, and I tried removing both of the jumper blocks. It didn't change a thing, unfortunately, so I'm still at square one.

I run spectrum dx5 radio on my losi trucks ,flysky on raminator ,traxxas on xmaxx..... anyone the way Owen explains it the kill switch thinks it is stuck at full throttle/brake that's why you need to set endpoints at 85%, anything above is triggering kill switch . Run a Matt Olsen Design, MOD kill switch on 5t 2.0. Been using 4 years 0 issues. Anyway first thing he asked was can I turn traction control off because it will activate kill switch. He tried to keep it simple but kill switch reads info and not all radios and kill switches on same page. Manufacturers don't test their switches with all radios.I think you should contact flysky to see what they recommend. Was just thinking with everything on voltage is dropping and might be fooling switch.......ain't no expert just trying to help.

Thanks for the tips! It helped me narrow down the issue, although it wasn't where I thought the problem was. Evidently, I've had the jumpers on my Dynamite switch turned 90 degrees the wrong way, and so six volts never stopped being the cutoff. It must've never been a problem with my previous controller/receiver since they didn't demand as much power from the battery. Once I had one of the jumpers hooked up properly, my system's been running like a breeze! Hopefully this thread helps someone else in the future 😅
