Hallo, I was thinking on updating all my rigs with full metal clutches for less maintenance.
Does someone know the pros and cons vs standard pad materials that rub off with time?
(A part from full metal ones being more expensive)

I got full metal one from tps for 15€ i think and love it so far. I was kinda sceptical since how much bite will have metal on metal right?
Turns out enough :)
With such price i don't see reason to buy traditional clutch with pads.

FS clutch Pros:
  • Long life, little wear.
  • If it glazes over, you can always resurface the clutch shoe surface.
  • Will stand up to the heat from slippage.
  • Will not chip/break if dropped or handled improperly.
  • High reliability.
FS clutch Cons: (none)

Traditional /Ceramic-rubber clutch Pros:
  • Lower cost
  • readily available
Traditional /Ceramic-rubber clutch Cons: (too much to actually list here, here are just a few points)
  • Short lifespan
  • Materials do not hold up to slip/heat
  • Clutch material can chip/break easily if dropped or handled improperly.
  • Cannot be resurfaced.
  • Reliability is questionable.
