I need some help with my 7PXR. I have a custom 1/5 on road car that has both front and rear hydraulic brakes. Rear brakes are on channel 3 and front are on channel 4, so two servos are required, as I have two master cylinders. Channel 1 is steering and 2 is throttle. I have the brakes working with no issues, pushing forward on the trigger applies both front and rear brakes at the rate I have set it up for.

I would now like to assign a button that would apply both front and rear brakes so I can have a parking brake. So when the button is pushed, I want brakes on, about 70%. When not pushed, channel 3 and 4 control the brakes via the trigger.

I have tried conditions and mixing to no avail. I can select a button and assign it to channel 2 or 3, but it doesn't control the channel 2/3 servos. There is no brake 2/3 in the list of options to assign a button. In addition to having channel 2/3 on the list of options, there is also one named "brake", but it doesn't work, no movement of the channel 2/3 servos.

Anyone have any idea how to make this work?

In case you are curious as to why I need a parking brake..... I'm putting a jet turbine engine in it, so I need a parking brake for startup. :)

Thanks!

I see that the Primal RC team put a Line Lock on the Dodge Challenger and that is what I need. I don't know how to make that work when the brakes are already controled by channel 3 and 4 for brakes. This is why I need a way to mix or assign a override via a button.

Just a thought..not sure it would work...but what if you ran a y-splitter and ran the Y to another channel on the reciever. Then you would still have independent brakes when normal but when you push the button for "said" channel the "Y" is hooked too, would activate both. Never tried it but just a thought. I am suprised that a mixing function won't work. Maybe hit up Futaba directly and see if they can advise if mixing set up. I have the 7PXR and have not fooled w mixing much..but there is a TON of options. Lmk what ya find!

It's a good idea, but I'm out of channels. With surface receiver, I only have 4 channels, steering, throttle, front brakes, and rear brakes.
I also looked at the s.bus2 option using a hub. While we can plug sensors and s.bus2 servos into the s.bus, we cannot create a 5th channel where I can assign to a button.

I may have to use a air receiver so I can get more channels. Not sure I can use my 7pxr with a air receiver or not.

Thanks and I will report back once I sort this out.

I was able to bind the R2008SB, but the 7pxr still only shows 4 channels. I thought the 7pxr was a 7 channel radio so I do not understand

yes, that is what I was expecting. However, in the settings menu for channel reverse, channel settings, etc, all only show 4 channels.

I would like to keep telemetry and there are not too many options with air receivers with telemetry with the 7pxr. This is why I was hoping to add a channel via s.bus

I wish Futaba would offer a surface receiver with 7+ channels that work with the 7pxr. They already make one, but it's not compatible. Firmware update??

My last option is switch over to a air transmitter setup and be done. The main downside is steering with sticks vs the wheel.

Has anyone been able to get and use the full 7 channels with telemetry, using either a surface or air receiver with our 7pxr?

I searched and I'm not finding anything on that topic, so how do they get away with calling it a 7 channel radio?

yes, but they have not responded to the two emails I've already sent to tech support. I'm not impressed with no response support.

What I have confirmed is that you can only use 4 channels with the 7pxr if you want telemetry. The other two air receivers that work with the 7pxr are not telemetry. I want telemetry for gps to get speed, so I will either buy a Spektrum surface 6 channel, which is actually 6 channels with no bs, or I will have to switch to an air setup.

Forgot to add that the R2008SB air receiver does work with the 7pxr, but only in Analog mode. I do see all 7 channels in that mode. I'm not sure how much I am giving up using digital servos with a analog receiver setting.

You are correct. I am in analog mode as well w mine. Never had an issue with it. And sorry they are not responding..that sucks
