Hello guys.

I am Freddie an new here on this forum.

I run on mine Losi a G320 Pro-Active engine that I have bought frome Taylor RC. The engine have run great for approximately 10 liters of fuel. Only now the engine will not run: fuel is good and mix well, sparkplug and igniting is good, sparkplug is a littel dry in mine opinion but still wet, carb WT 990 is new and settings are good.
Hope you will have any advice fore me what to do.

I am frome the Netherlands by the way, so mine English will not be 100%.

Welcome @Freddie1971 . How does the compression feel when you pull on the pullcord? What's your procedure for priming and starting the engine as the 990 carb doesn't have a choke? When you mean the plug is dry does the mean it's completely dry and there is no oil residue left from the combustion cycle on it? If I had to guess I'm going to say your carb is acting up or possibly the ring is tired from being lean as there's no oil remnants on the plug. Pics of the spark plug will help so we can assist you further

Hello Rep732,

And thank you fore youre attention fore mine problem.

The compression feels normal, but I am not sure.

I always start the engine with no throttel, and the engine will run after 2 ore 3 pools.

Just pool 2 times and remove the sparkplug, now I notice there is oil residue (see pictures).
The carb is brand-new and adjust to
1 1/8 low and 1 5/8 high.

I just order a new piston and piston ring in the hope that the problems be will solved.

Gr Fred
I am a littel bit amazed, because yesterday and the dat before the sparkplug was dry. I suspect now that the remaining oil is ceiling of the pistonring and there is now a good compression. Can it be that indeed the pistonring must be renewed.

I run the engine frome brand-new fore 10 liters of fuel now and not renewed the pistonring.

Your spark plug is fouled and it will be difficult to start with it being that wet. Try and dry the plug the best you can. Generally when you dry a plug that's wet like that I use a cigarette lighter to burn the excess gas and oil off of it. Also the reason your plug is wet is because your engine is flooded and you need to pull the plug and turn the vehicle upside down and pull the pull start a bunch of times and see if there's gas coming out in the form of droplets. To get a very flooded engine to dry out you need to pull the carb and put the piston to top dead center so the piston skirt is above the intake port so you can tip the rig on its side and drain the crank case of any excess fuel. Good luck 👍

Thank you fore youre advice.

But I think its strange that fore 2 days the sparkplug was dry, certainly not as wet just now.

First ik will replace the pistonring and hope that the engine will start, i will let now if was successfully.

Thanks again youre help is very appreciated.

I have seen a situation here where the tank was being pressurized while the rig was sitting and it flooded the engine so it's possible the same issue happened with you.

I an frome the Netherlands 🇳🇱

I don't now what you mean with: pressurized while the rig was sitting

Rig was sitting?

Air pressure was building inside the tank which led to the gas being pushed into the carb and flooding the engine.

Sitting: a period of time where the rig was not being used.

Thank you...

I think that's happend. When I pull off the fuel line there was pressure on the gas.

Can you explain how that can happen to me.

And thanks again fore youre time and help 👍

Hello Rep732.

I have done what you advised.

Vent is working now, removed sparkplug hold upside-down en pould 4 times, a littel feul was leeking.

Put in a brand-new sparkplug and, the motor was just as active as my wife in bed, nothing.

Removed sparkplug, and sparkplug was littel dry, see picture. I hoop you have more advise, because i don't know anymore.

Next week i gonne replace the pistonring, hope that will do it.

Kind regards Freddie

Can you give me more info on this engine? I see it's a 32cc zen but the pro-active part is throwing me off. Is it a regular engine or an upgrade from taylor? So at this time do you have spark? I'm questioning how good this 990 carb is and I and a lot of guys here prefer the 1107 carb with the choke. It can be easy to flood an engine with a 990 if your not paying attention. I had a vekta with a 990 and g320 and I flooded it so bad it took me 2 days to get it dried up and start it again.

Also running 10 liters which is roughly 2.5 gallons isn't alot for these engines so unless you sucked in dirt or dust to lower compression I can't see compression being the issue.

The engine is a upgrade frome Taylor RC ( see picture). I run the 990 carb fore 10 liters of fuel now, never had any problems.

I don't think i suck in any dirt, take goodcare fore the airfilter.

Maybe you are right and it is flooded bad because of the tank pressure problems.

But i don't know anymore 😔

Ah gotcha. You need to get to the crank case to get the extra fuel out. One member here removed the carb to access the crankcase to drain excess fuel.

So if i understand correctly.

Remove the carb, put piston in a position above the air/fuel intake, and drain the carb.

To drain the crank case. Technically if you can hold the carb butterfly open and tip the engine to allow fuel come out it should be the same thing, and yes piston all the way up
I will remove the carb completely and drain the crank case.

I will let you know if that worked.
And many thanks fore youre patience and help here. I really appreciated that 👍

Today i removed carberateur and isolater. When i assembled mine new 990 last week i put a gasket over the pulsegenerator (see pictures). I belong in a mental hospital fore the rest of my live.

Today i will clean everything, tomorrow i will try to start the engine, but I have good hope everything will work.
