Gearing help

Hi, I just got a 79cc for my Hpi Baja. What's the best gearing for speed/power? And what exhaust do ya'll recommend? I'm currently running 17-57 on my 29cc with a bartolone pipe.

You are limited on the pipes. Theres only like one for it i think. As far as gearing start with 20/54. That motor is not a very high revving motor. For the money could have got a smaller 34cc that has much more power than that engine. I hate saying that.

Thank you Mick. Yeah...I got greedy on the size but didn't realize the power potential. So which pipe should I start with?

If you can still return that motor I and I’m sure everyone else heavily suggests that you do

Yea I started to say 19/55 but it should be able to pull 20/54. it'll sound like its not doing work on any gearing because its 16,000 rpm max.

we do it right around here because we do it twice.....never heard a good "long" term experience from clone engines.Pics please when the engine blows up....

Mine was blown when it was new out of the box.
